I've never seen someone else ship maul and pre vizsla before, which kinda surprised me? Maul gets shipped with everyone under the sun and him and pre interacted for multiple episodes. I know every maul ship that isn't obimaul is practically a rare pair but there are levels to this. Pre/maul is at the very bottom of the iceberg. But hear me out

I just know Pre vizsla was jealous of maul. "It took me two years, random white man did it in one week" audio vibes. Pre let maul do all the work on the group project just to remove his name from the credits. They're toxic frenemies that hate eachother's guts but still hangout for social status.

Maul very clearly didn't think all that much of pre, Snobby bitch that he is. Pre was concealing murderous intent the whole time. It was obvious that it was gonna blow up and that somebody was gonna end up dead, it was also obvious that it would be pre. The plot demanded it.

As much as I'm sure Pre hated mauls guts and used him, there was some begrudging admiration as well. Maul is everything death watch idolizes, violent, ruthless, powerful. He managed to do what they've been failing at for years in just a couple months. And Pre did respect him, he accepted Maul's challenge, he gave him back his weapon for the duel, he accepted his execution. He did not have to do all that, he did not have to accept, especially from someone who was his prisoner, and returning his weapon was against Pres best interest. This was the first time he showed even a semblance of honor and it was towards maul.

Maul sees pre as inferior, a tool for getting his way. Though maul views almost every relationship this way. If their interests didn't align he would've ridden himself of death watch much sooner. Mauls 'betrayal' was nothing personal, while he certainly didn't think highly of pre, with all the passively demeaning remarks and disregard, I don't think he genuinely disliked the man. He didn't look annoyed enough for that, he was simply in the way. Mildly disgusted? Yes, he has a bit of an attitude. Pre was useful and worth keeping around, at least for the time being. Ideologically he agreed with death watch, he was sympathetic to their cause.

What I'm saying is if you tweak the circumstances a little, they could be so awful and entertaining together. Allies and enemies to friends and enemies to lovers and enemies. Does ANYONE see the vision?

okay, fuck homework, Malevolent AU time Scraping all of this off my memory because for some reason we refuse to write anything down even though we can't remember for shiiit Honestly? Most of act 1 goes the same as canon, untilllll Siffrin arrives at the favor tree. They make their wish, open their eyes, glance down, and see.... something?? poking out of the ground? He picks it up and its just... a book....... submerged in the dirt? And what's this weird symbol on the cover? It's like a four-pointed star but something's off about it, makes a pain behind his eye patch throb. Welp, weird book! He finds them all the time with Odile, this one's just a little more..... headache-y . . .

(You hear a pained shout coming from the favor tree.) (You run back west out of Dormont, to where you last saw Sif.) "Sif... Buddy? You okay over here?" (You hear a wet growl coming from a lump of darkless fabric on the damp grass) (You...) .
