Bromeliads are so cool! This is a Orthophytum, which is part of the bromeliad family.

What you see on the top is the super cool flower. I'm assuming this is also a Monocarpic plant, that means the mom is putting all the energy from the final flower coming out from the center. Then she'll give some babies and possibly one new plant coming from the center.

I'm going to learn from this plant and compare it with the care of a bromeliad. I'll keep you posted!
