It’s interesting what you said about Charlie because I agree. He spends a lot of time building himself up, and Charlie - and her reflection on him - are a big part of who he is during the moc arc. Who he’d rather be verses what the story wants him to be. The removal of Charlie from the story is the last straw for Dean’s control over his character. The story literally takes out his queer/feminine mirror and he just becomes this violent thing who only thinks about killing. Except he doesn’t. Kill. Cas.

Season 10 only did one major thing wrong, and that is making Charlie’s death final. The conditions for her coming back, or surviving secretly, existed - she’d met Rowena who had appropriate magic at her disposal - and yet it didn’t happen, which is the only major thing I recriminate to the season. The themes were very interesting and it’s a pity that Charlie’s death ruined the experience for many. It was, indeed, the thing that made sense to have at that moment of the narrative, but it should have been reversed or revealed as a trick of sorts. If I remember correctly, there was some stuff that seemed like they could be foreshadowing of her death being not real. #charlielives was a theory at the time.

Even the bathtub, which many found offensive, I read as a reference to the painting of the death of Marat, so I found it interesting. But of course, once it became clear Charlie wasn’t coming back, it became bleak.

There are so many things wrong with this a novel would have trouble unwinding it.

Like people keep trying to approach vader and leia’s relationship the same way as luke’s and it just isn’t the same. And it’s IMPORTANT for them to approach it differently.

“Oh come on!” He said, “My couch isn’t going to hurt you!”

“I don’t need your charity,” Derek practically growled. Stiles took a steadying breath. “Go home,” he ordered again. Then he turned around, but not towards his car, towards the house. Stiles watched as he rushed up the porch and through the front doors..

“Crap,” he said again as he shook, rolled the window back up, and opened the jeep door to follow him. The rain had his sweater wet in seconds and it ran down his neck getting his shirt wet. He shivered at the cold. But by the time he reached the front steps, Derek was outside again, and had shoved him back off the bottom step.

Stiles slipped in the mud and struggled to keep standing upright. He took a few breaths to steady himself and then looked up at Derek with determination.

“Why are you being so stubborn?”

“I don’t need anyone to take care of me.”

“Look, it’s not charity!” Derek rolled his eyes. “It’s not! …I owe you.”
