New AU! Carme and Moon got together first shortly after this episode when the two are introduced. After a while, Carme noticed Moon and Ruske actually got along better than either of the two moon models themselves had thought, and talked to Moon. This helped him discover and, more importantly, name his feelings for Ruske. From there, Carme and Moon approached Ruske and ended up adding a third to their partnership, happily creating a polycule.
In the One Small Step AU, Carme is one of the few truly bio-organic animatronics across dimensions. Because of this, he is able to create their son, Sergey, using Moon and Ruske's stomach nanites, despite Moon and Ruske not being bio-organic. All three of the parents are very protective of their baby, but Ruske certainly takes the cake, and rarely lets Sergey out of his sight. For this reason, he worked tirelessly for a solid four days after Sergey was born to create a special containment bubble(that, of course, also works as a crib) so he, or either of his two partners, could easily take their son with them wherever they went, and keep Sergey safe.
Note: This short excerpt contains suggestive themes and sexual teasing. It is also meant to be a moment in my One Small Step AU, but can be read separately and you won't miss anything. Finally, this is technically "unfinished", and may be continued in the future, though I cannot promise anything.
With that out of the way, enjoy a short scene under the cut!
Ballet shoes tapped softly against soft carpet as Carme strode quietly down the hallway to his partners' shared lab, following the distinct sounds of clinking metal. He wondered briefly what Moon was tinkering with today as he poked his head through the doorframe. The bells at the ends of Carme's twin-tailed jester hat jingled softly at the motion.
"Moon, dear? I need your help with Roose."
Moon perked up at Carme's voice even as he quirked a brow when he turned to face the other, before deciding to leave the chair behind and close the distance between him and his partner. The shorter lunar inventor stood on the tips of his toes and cupped his barista's faceplate before planting a loving kiss against Carme's lips. When they separated, Moon smiled at the cute way his partner's tail swayed from the gentle show of devotion.
"What's up with Ruske, baby?" Moon asked. "Is he good?"
Carme chuckled and gently held Moon's hips.
"Ruske's doing perfectly fine, sweetheart," the taller bot crooned. "I just need your help convincing him to relax and take a break."
The way the other's tail swings around his side to curl itself around Moon's leg leaves little guesswork as to what Carme really means. Moon gave an interested hum and reached a hand around to brush over the base of his love's tail, earning himself a shiver and a very interested rumble from Carme's voice box. The inventor's next words were spoken in a low tone, eager with a promised hunger.
"That's definitely something I can help with."
Carme can't help but lean forward a little more. "Well then, shall we, my dearest Moon?"
"Is that even a question?" the other chuffs with a grin. He pets the tail against his leg before allowing it to unwind, his optics on it keen as he watches it come undone, just like his partners would soon come undone under his touch. Moon felt akin to a cat tracking down a mouse as he grabbed the end of Carme's tail before it could fully return to its usual spot behind the tall barista. Gently, slowly, his thumb rubbed the top side as he turned from Carme and went through the doorway, and continued to do so for the entire trek from the lab to the living room, where the two found Ruske on the couch. In the scientist's arms was their little boy, safe and sound and, more importantly, asleep. Ruske looked up tiredly when his lovers entered the room, his interest piqued when he noticed the state Carme was in.
"Hello, darlings. I'm busy right now," the scientist nuzzled the babe in his arms lovingly, "but I can see you two have been as well."
"Oh, this? This just happened within the last two minutes. So imagine what else can happen when you join us, Roosie," Moon suggested, still teasing Carme's tail even now. It was obvious to both the inventor and scientist that their tall love was struggling to contain himself at the moment.
The tired parent glanced at his son and, even though his expression didn't show it, he was nervous about putting Sergey down. To his credit, he was a far more passionate and protective father than he'd ever thought himself capable of being, and his partners adored that about him. It was beautiful, sexy, even, seeing the lunar scientist being such a good father, and right now, they wanted to reward that with a good bit of destressing.
Moon's optics softened. "Our little boy will be safe if you leave him for a little while. He's already sound asleep, anyway. But I promise you, after we're done, Carme and I'll take over watch duty, okay?"
Ruske's shoulders lowered just the slightest bit as he hesitated a moment more. Checking his charge, his HUB looked to be at full percentage. Even despite this, the new parent still felt that tiredness that couldn't be fixed with a full charge alone. With a very heavy sigh, bordering on shaky near the end, Ruske stood with the babe in his arms.
"Alright, very well. Just, let me put Sergey in his crib and have a moment with him."
Moon nodded his head in agreement. "We'll be waiting for you out here, baby."
Ruske's tired mind drifted ever so easily back to the image of the grin on Moon's face as he stroked Carme's tail even as he was talking to him, and he perked up a little as he stepped out of the room to put Sergey down for a nap.
