We're back, and things are changing
If you're new, WELCOME. If you were indoctrinated in the beta season (also known as season 0) then WELCOME BACK.
Kevin and I have been on hiatus for awhile (more like vacation), and we have returned for the real season 1 of OSTV, but it's not exactly the OSTV you might have come to know in the beta season.
We're down to producing 2 videos a week, Space News and Brain Tank. This is so we can better focus on producing each of these, hopefully fine tuning them to make them better than before. Also, it gives us more time since this is our hobby, not our job.
Brain Tank is revamped to be shorter and slightly more competitive. Kevin and I will be keeping score throughout this season to see who is winning, aka who has the most knowledge in their Brain Tank. Also, once a month we'll be going head-to-head in a trivia showdown on the same topic, moderated by a third party (read: intern). We're always looking for more ideas to quiz each other on so that we can bring new knowledge to you guys, so feel free to submit ideas at will.
We're going to start a podcast in the place of Let's Talk About. We both enjoyed doing LTA, but it didn't get the views, or the audience retention we would have liked, so we're changing it up into a podcast format. This will allow us to talk longer on certain subjects, perhaps tie in current events (a la The E.N.D.), and we definitely plan to have rotating guests.
Our tumblr blog is actually going to become a blog. No more will it just be a dumping ground for links to our YouTube videos. Now, at least once a day, we're going to post something. That could be some quick space news, a video we enjoyed, or the more geeky stuff we used to talk about in The E.N.D. This will hopefully lead us to being more active on our other social networks (Twitter and Facebook) as well.
We are going to try our hardest to get you, the viewer/listener/reader involved. Outest Space is not just about two guys sitting in front of a camera telling you things. We're informing you of stuff that is going on and we're trying to learn things and enlighten you along the way. It's also a conversation, and we want to hear your responses. We've gotten some feedback from our beta season, but it shouldn't end there. Be vocal! What do you want to see? Are you happy with our changes? Do you want more? Who is funnier? Let us know, because we want you to be a part of this.
Outest Space is ever evolving. There are things that we plan to change about OSTV throughout this season. Format, locations, segments, etc. We are trying to be fluid about how things are, but we have one concrete goal: to have fun. If it's not fun for us, then it won't be fun for you.
Lastly, we want to thank you for taking time out of your day(s) to view our videos. Every view, like, subscription, and comment helps more than you know. Stay tuned for more, and invite your friends.
