Never really understood the appeal of visiting new cities or countries to "go shopping". Then again, I am sure there are those who don't understand the appeal of being lost in a new place without plans, a place to sleep, or knowledge of what you're going to do next (aka being homeless). Regardless of your intentions, Japan's thriving shopping districts do a nice job of facilitating experiences for both the aforementioned wanderers.
