Welcome Raven
It was a normal night, like any other. It was snowing outside; a white blanket trimmed the edges of the large blue police box. Inside, Vick, Doctor and Master were all in the living room, watching a marathon of Disney movies. the young half breed laid on the floor, half watching the movie, half reading a comic book from another world. It was one thing, living in a zone where Mobians and humans have always lived together on earth, but being able to travel to different planets and read their things was just plain awesome. She looked back over to T.V., not really paying attention to what movie they were on, but it was better than watching the two other people in the room being... lovey dovey as Vick would put it. It wasn’t that she was disgusted by it, she loved love, but it made her a bit sad having no one to do that stuff with. Aside from that, living there the past half a year was the best. She had made such good friends with Master, who was sometimes just as grumpy as his look-a-like, and gone on many ‘pregnancy safe’ adventures through time and space. It helped take her mind off of the events of Dread Day. “...Ouch!" Vick cried of my surprise that actual pain, when a sudden cramp in the belly hit her hard. Her face went from slightly annoyed, to mildly concerned as she felt her baby bump. “What is it Vick?” asked Doctor. “Um... I think... I think my water broke.” she spoke as if the words coming out of her mouth were strange, which they were of course. “what? are you sure??” he asked, a little frantic with not knowing what to do. “about 99 percent ye-ah!” the half breed half yelled as another pain occurred. the Timelords helped the struggling Vick up from the floor, which Vick didn’t listen about when Master mentioned it probably wasnt a good idea, and walked her to the medical bay. “You’re doing good, Vick, almost there.” assured Doctor, seeing the internal screaming indicators in her face. “Doc, I’m scared...” “It’s alright, we’re here for you. Right, Master?” he gave the other a look as if to say ‘help me out here.’ “Right.” Master nodded, giving a small smile, having no idea what do actually do in the current situation. They reached the medical bay rather quickly, and got Vick up on the bed. Vick was panicking slightly, it being her first kid after all, and held her breath unintentionally. Doctor handed Master his phone. “Call Clara.” He said plainly, trying to help Vick do the breathing thing you see people do in the movies. “Just breath like this.” “Why do i need to call her??” he protested, simply in a moment of jealousy. “Because we need help with this?” the silver hedgehog didn’t break his breathing demonstrating, but he was doing it a little faster than he should now. “But-” Master stopped himself as Doctor gave him a serious look, which was a dangerous look to get from the normally happy-go-lucky man. “Alright, alright, fine.” The darker hedgehog turned around to make the call, but before he could punch in the numbers, there was a thump behind him. Doctor had passed out from breathing too fast, and was now on the floor. Vick was looking down at him. “... That is not very reassuring.” she half-joked, her voice cracking a bit. “For Chaos sake Master, you jealous butt! Call Clara!” “I am, I am! ... and I’m not jealous...” he grumbled while dialing the phone.
_________________________________________________________ A few hours went by before things were finally calm again, Clara was most definitely a big help, and the small, bundled baby was in her mother’s arms. Doctor, having regained conciousness about half way through, and Clara were definitely excited about her and huddled slightly around Vick, while Master was just in ‘never having kids’ mode in the other room. “I am never doing that again...” Vick sighed. Although, that was one of the biggest lies shes ever lied. “thank you guys... really. especially you Clara.” “no worries, I’m just glad the baby’s okay.” said the purple cat, with a big smile on her face. “Oi, what about me?” piped in Doctor. “You passed out.” Clara laughed. “So? I still helped.” “Of course, Doc. Couldn’t have gotten through this with out ya.” Vick smiled. It was the truth, and of course Doctor knew that, but obviously it was still nice to hear as he straightened his bowtie pridefully. “So did you ever decide on a name?” asked Clara rolling her eyes at Doctor. Vick looked down at the little hedgecat, who was looking right back at her with those ruby red eyes. So much like her father. She was beautiful and Vick loved her already. “... Raven. her name’s Raven.” she said, putting her forehead against her’s. Raven let out a happy giggle. “She says she likes that name.” Doctor translated with a laugh. “How do you know?” asked Clara. “I speak baby.” “Duh.” Even Vick knew that.
