every day i am crying and sobbing over the way kaede and shuichi reached for each other right at the end. i don't have anything interesting to say just please look at their silly little hands

i've always headcanoned that kaede has pleasantly warm hands and shuichi has super cold hands..... it doesn't bother kiibo to hold shuichi's hands because he can't even tell they're cold..

i feel like even if your hands are cold you easily warm any metal you touch (unless it's like. frozen or you're outside in the winter) so shuichi and kiibo have a beautiful handholding chemical reaction of warming each other up <3 kaede makes them hold hands first so shuichi's aren't cold and she's like "oh you have to do it first i'll freeze!! kiibo warm him up for me please!" "oh! of course it would be my pleasure :]"

i talked abt this on discord hehe so i'm rewording what i said for a post

thinking about these interactions...... from v3 chapter one before the first trial:

kaede isn't cruel but she doesn't do disingenuous compliments or mince her words when someone or their hobbies don't interest her (and when getting to know everyone for the first time has some difficulty being engaged in stuff that's not related to music) and kiibo is so defensive with literally everyone, you get to see it a lot in his free time events with shuichi, like he's sort of uptight with him until they get to know each other better

but he and kaede just bypass all that right away it's so funny why are they best friends!!!! in the FTEs kiibo doesn't even get mad at her when she asks his opinion on roombas or any of the other silly questions you can choose. she's not like, way nicer to him than with everyone else but they have fun hanging out.. and here he's like "no i know you're not treating me different you're fine don't worry"

and she's the only person in this entire game who would tell him he sounded cool asking an investigation question. plus she is literally going through it at this part ^ she thinks she just killed a friend and failed to end the game. if she says something like this she means it 100%

been thinking about kaede and kiibo dancing together....... kaede doesn't really know how but she's at least seen people ballroom dancing (i figure she played piano for fancy parties whether in her fake dr memories or while she went to hope's peak) and she can stop kiibo from dancing the robot while they learn it together JDHDKFJ

i feel like kiibo is the first to suggest learning how to dance, and then they bring it to shuichi, but saimatsu has maybe danced together before.... just casually, hands gently on each others' waists and slow steps, in some kind of vague clumsy pattern along with the music, sock feet on a wooden floor

and kiibo thinks they're both so good at it already, there's that longing feeling he gets when kaede and shuichi are human together... but they both look over and give him sheepish little smiles, kaede feels a little silly that music is basically her whole thing but she's not great at this, and shuichi feels so exposed with his hands being held and his face so close to kaede's, and kiibo smiles back at them and shoots them a double thumbs up and shuichi laughs and kaede is stepping on his foot again

thinking about saiibomatsu taking a nap together like one of those Really Good Naps and when they wake up they're all tangled together and their hair is all messy and fucked up and they're all a little bit too warm especially kiibo but it's fine they needed the rest. kiibo had to recharge or something so he was in sleep mode idk jfhdjffj

kaede and kiibo are both the kind of people to forget they've been holding someone's hand for a long time, it happens between them and other people (maki voice kaede you can let go now) but especially with each other. i feel like they would start off being embarrassed about it but realizing they both do it makes them go oh hm maybe it's not as annoying as i felt like it is. it's cute when my partner does it...

shuichi thinks it's really sweet too, he likes when one of them will take his hand and not let go, it's nice..... since he's shuichi and he's still trying to get better at saying what he wants, he had to clarify that he likes it, a few times, but that's okay peace and love

i love saiibo they're so funny my friends have affectionately described them as having "strange chemistry" being "fucking embarrassing" etc that is better than anything i could ever say

i feel like i don't draw them being affectionate enough but i know it took them forever to be able to hold hands or hug or kiss without getting so flustered about it they had to stop and try again. like it's not about not wanting to i just feel like the Initiating is hard for them at first. shuichi wants to get better at it for kiibo and also for kaede because that's just one of his character traits, and then you have kiibo over here who's like "shu- shuichi!! um may i hold your hand please?" and he's so earnest but also so visibly flustered about it that shuichi just folds too and they're both like oh my god can we try again our hands didn't even touch this time

#posting this bc i was talking to finny about similar stuff hehe #ot3posting #i feel like pre relationship kiibo just did not initiate touch with anyone #type of guy who has never hugged before #and i dunno admitting the close feelings makes kiibo acutely aware of them and how shuichi feels about him #so both of them completely lose their cool about the smallest things KFHDKFBDK #theyre silly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#saiibomatsu to me is these 3 navigating new relarionship stuff #and being silly about it. like shuichi and kiibo are just like that #and kaede has the ability to take their hands and help them hold each other jfhdjf #but she's not a perfectly smooth confident romance expert girlboss!!!!!!!!#the stuff she does that flusters them isn't really because she was explicitly trying to and she's just as much of a flustered goober as #-shuichi is. kaedes allowed to be the functional glue of the polycule but not too much ok. shes silly

saimatsu they are so soft....... i always think about postgame and them being kinda clingy with each other for a while, like their romantic relationship evolves very naturally out of a close friendship and they're not clingy in an annoying way just like. they are Always holding hands always sitting shoulder to shoulder and they can't sleep unless they're at least in the same room if not fully just holding each other. maybe it's not the healthiest thing but it's what they need at first and that's okay :'(
