ghibli-inspired au where jisung moves into a new house in the countryside and it’s… haunted?
well, not necessarily. it’s just that whenever he’s had a rough day, the radio seems to flick on and his favorite songs fill the room. jisung's pretty sure that the radio normally isn’t catered specifically to his tastes, but he’s too tired to worry.
he gets the urge to cook more often than before. sometimes, in the kitchen, he sees a recipe book open to a certain dish, with all the ingredients conveniently within arm’s reach, and the fridge weirdly organized.
when he takes a broom to tackle the void underneath his bed, he swears he hears the tinkling giggles of a dust bunny. he makes sure not to disturb it too much, apologizing for his mess whenever he remembers to.
the house came with paintings on the wall—beautiful abstract pieces that seem to look alive. whenever jsvng admires them, it almost looks like they’re preening. he makes sure to check up on them every once in a while.
when he goes to turn off the lights, there’s a bit of a lag. as if the light didn’t want to turn off. every morning, when he opens the blinds, the sunlight looks like it glitters as it bounces off the walls. maybe jisung has a nice window.
jisung dreads doing his laundry—he thinks it might be the worst task to exist. but recently, whenever he thinks he loses a sock, it turns up in the next load. it takes less time for his laundry to dry on the line. maybe this is good karma
and there’s a sneaky critter in the garden behind his house. he can hear it prancing around, and he swears he sees a white fox tail. or maybe nine, all bunched together, connected to a body. they shouldn’t exist here—this is an orange-fox region.
jisung likes his new house. even if it might be a little bit haunted. but he’s got all the time in the world to figure that one out.
