Guy spends the entire date in his pajamas and they spend most of the time playing poker, but Jessie doesn’t seem to mind. Compared to being at home changing diapers, this is perfect. xD

“Hey Davina, I’m your daddy! She looks like me, right?” “She better not, for her sake.” “Psssh, you seemed to like it.” “What’s with the outfit? Don’t tell me you’re a strip-o-gram now?” “Nope, I’m a cop in training.” “What??? Are you serious?” “Hey don’t laugh. Means I can afford to pay child support. That’s why you called me, right?” “...” “Well you don’t want to move in together do you?” “Oh hell no.” “Good. I’m happy to send a weekly check on the condition I get, y’know, visits and stuff.” “Sure. Thanks for not making this awkward.”
But Jessie has other things on her mind than studying. At first she brushes her sickness off as some bad pizza... but then it continues. A pregnancy check confirms it - she’s expecting. It has to be Gunnar’s but she’s not sure she wants to tell him. He’d probably try to convince her to give it up. So she decides to go it alone for now, dropping out of college and moving back to Strangetown.
Jessie gives birth to a little girl she calls Davina. This doctor is one of her neighbours who rushed in as she was in labour xD
Meanwhile, Gunnar’s baby-mama-to-be moves in to the Strangetown trailer park. Despite a lack of funds that don’t stretch much further than a bed and a couch, Jessie’s pregnancy isn’t too rough on her. But the lack of money does make her start to rethink her decision to go this alone. The odd check from Gunnar would be helpful. For a start she’s not sure she can even afford a crib.
single-parenting isn’t easy
Guy and Jessie Pilferson were good friends and when she had to drop out, they remained close through regular phone calls and emails. When Guy invites her over to hang out, at first she doesn’t seem impressed. But that’s probably because she’s been burned before and is a bit more reluctant to let people in now.
But she warms up to him.
