One month ago, I posted the first chapter of "Missing You" and wondered: is anyone going to be into such a premise? Missing people, the typically chaotic world of Strangetown, alien lore, Vidcund being a cranky-ass and Cassandra on the hunt for her brother Alexander...and also a romance mixed somewhere into this dark comedy.

And this story managed to already outperform some of my others like "Bella's Odyssey" and "Blood Money," so it seems the answer is yes lol.

In celebration of its one-month anniversary launch, I present to you Chapter 12: The Miss_ng Person and an excerpt:

“When I’m not chasing alien wormholes in the desert, yes. Or getting myself into unnecessary trouble,” Vidcund remarked with self-deprecation. “And I guess since you saw my room, you see I have a thing for—” “—African violets,” Cassandra said. She struck out a hesitant finger, wanting to touch the delicate flowers, then remembering her grandma’s reprimands of how the oil of her finger would damage the delicate little plants. “I’m surprised you like them so much.” “Why?” “Well, I can’t even keep a snake plant alive, and these things are fussy.” “Nah, just misunderstood,” Vidcund smiled. He grabbed a watering can and sprinkled some water into the pebble bed. “They’re really simple once you get the hang of their needs. Don’t touch them too much, they don’t like saturation, talk to them a bit. And give them a cozy pot where they feel safe to let their roots grow.”
