I would like to ask the alternative kids (alt Milo, Alt Zack, Alt Melissa) how they met Dakota and if they can remember life before they met him

Milo: Oh, I'm pretty sure I answered that already!

It was really nice though, so I understand why you would like to hear it again.

Melissa: And we pretty much just met by affiliation. You know, asking Milo who where these new uncles he always talked about...

It was like he had met the coolest people in the world.

Zack: Melissa called them weid clockman and funky disco.

Melissa: It's not my fault they looked like that.

Zack: She punched Dakota in the arm once when she thought he was being mean to Milo.

Melissa: Not the point!

Milo: They all got along very well at the end! Cavendish and Dakota treat me like family and I love them.

Milo: It's just Diogee, but that's a really cool name! We should have named him that.

Milo: Oh, Doctor D? Yeah!

He lives with us! He's not actually related to my family, but he's a good friend and he needed somewhere to live when his apartment was flooded by accident. He ended being so nice and useful my parents invited him to stay permanently!

Hey Milo, wanna show off your pins? Would love to see them more in detail!

Milo: Wow, you guys really like my pins! Sure, let me show them better!

Milo: The smaller one with the pink heart is really special. Amanda gifted it to me when we started dating! It has the same color as her favorite dress, and it’s just so cute. I love this pin because it reminds me of Amanda when we’re not together. 

The one in the middle is quite old! Melissa gave me this pin back when she was having a really, really sad day because she didn’t earn her taekwondo blue belt at the first try. I spent the whole evening trying to cheer her up, and when she felt better, she told me I was such a sunshine of a friend and gifted it to me.

The big one is pretty recent, but it’s very special. Dakota gave it to me last year when he and Cavendish brought me to Pride for the first time. I mean, of course, I had always supported the LGBT+ community, but I had never gone to Pride, or really questioned myself! Now I’m pretty sure I fall under it, but not quite about the specific flag so... I wear this to remind myself it’s okay to not be sure; and, of course, to support my uncles.

Good to finally meet you, Milo! How did you meet Cavendish and Dakota?

Milo: Oh, that was a fun story for sure!

You see, about two years ago I thought it would be fun to try some new activities. The Zoo had a small course going called “Junior Zookeepers”. It looked nice, so I signed up.

Milo: It turned out the person doing this course was Mr. Dakota! He was an amazing teacher; all the kids were having such a fun time together! He told us about animals and taught us how to do some basic activities from his job.

I used to go to the classes with Diogee. One day, when I was already going home, he saw a cat across the street and ran away. I was very worried because had I lost him, and he wasn’t answering my calls.

Mr. Dakota, who walked by at that moment, immediately dropped everything to help me. He made sure to cheer me up and tell me we would find my dog in no time. He even called his husband to help! It was so nice.

Milo: Mr. Cavendish joined us, and they rode me on their car across town and contacted all the pertinent authorities until I found Diogee! It was amazing, like a big adventure! Once they made sure I was alright, they insisted to ride me home.

And you won’t believe it! Once there, it turned out my parents were both Mr. Cavendish’s clients! He helps them routinely with the legal department of their jobs. So, they invited my new friends to dinner.

From there on, Dakota and Cavendish came home a lot, so eventually they became part of the family. Honestly, they are pretty much my uncles.

Milo: My girlfriend Amanda? Oh, she’s the sweetest girl you would ever met! So polite, organized and just overall nice. I love her!

Milo: I like too many, it would be hard to choose just one!

Although Dakota has been bugging me recently to watch an old sci-fi series he used to binge as a kid, so I may give it a try. You can never love enough shows!
