🪱 oh worm
worms aren't safe on this blog, read the username. (Also dear lord this was from March, I'm sorry)
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss :( take all the time you need, and know that we have your back in these rough times
I appreciate it both your support and patience with me, it means more than I can convey at the moment, but just know that the gratitude is there. I've come to realize in my time away and speaking to some others who have been in similar places, that unfortunately grief never goes away or shrinks down to your comfort. It's something you have to grow around and make yourself bigger than it.
So I think that taking the step to blog again as I usually do may be the help that I need. So thank you for giving me the space to open up here on my blog. We've had quite the year together on here 💛
Some questions regarding your AMA post(s)!:
What was the number one thing that made you start looking into being a Willow Ptarmigan?
Is there anything you do daily that makes you feel the most connected to being a Ptarmigan? (examples: certain foods you regularly eat, an activity you do the most, etc.)
Is there any music or other media that you connect to yourself being a Ptarmigan? (example: a particular song that reminds you of being a bird)
What made me question ptarmigans was a ling standing history i have with grouse my nicknames through out life are as follows "chicken girl" "chicken guy" (transitioned) "the guy with the chickens" "the farmer guy" "the guy who loves roosters?" So i always had a fascination with grouse (technically fowl but i digress)
When I learned about prairie chickens I became so excited i never fixated on something so intensely and would not shut up about the ears on that thang. Many years passed of being a wolf with a grouse fixation before i saw a ptarmigan video and my boyfriend would play it for me everytime i was sad and id feel better and comforted.
I stumbled on later that early proto polish peoples used ptarmigans as sacrificial animals quite a lot out numbering any other species by a decent margin. As a pagan and polish this felt significant and tied to my fixation towards grouse.
Perhaps it was fate perhaps it was a coincidence but i found ptarmigans to fit my emotional needs once i felt safe and not in danger.
Most often it is how i engage in the outdoors. I try my best to identify plants and learn how to pick, harvest, and test when plants are best eaten, how to regrow them, how to cook with them!
Besides that learning deeply about plants on a spiritual level. Learning what a plant can teach or lessons i can learn from it. I find a big importance on seeds and new growth.
For ptarmigans those details are needed for survival so i do the same!
Dancing by doing lil stomps makes me feel more connected than singing tbh. Lots of grouse lek and boy my house sure is flat and perfect for displaying a dance!
My werewolf boyfriend find this quite charming i also like repeating phrases like little songs similar to a parrot
Thank you for your questions they were fun to answer!
Hello, Jules I had the pleasure of seeing Iron Lung in theatres recently, and while I understand seeing the movie might be a bit of a trick (read: very potentially impossible?) at this late juncture (apologies, I had to get a rather late showing myself because of theatres in my area)... I think you would like it. So I suppose consider this my recommendation: I think you should watch Iron Lung when a way becomes available for you to! Unless you've already seen it, of course. In which case I'd be curious about your thoughts! :)
I apologize for the delay in writing back, you're correct I have not yet seen it but if there's a will there's a way I suppose. I'll take your recommendation rather seriously and bump it up my list seeing as we've talked for a while now, I appreciate the recommendation
And of course, if you'd like to talk more about it dms are always available
Ily so much jules you're like if my sleep paralysis demon decided to become a therapist
I think I may know who sent this--
Hello Archivist /ref
He's torturing me for fun again, mutuals stop him--
(This is said with all the grace of a small child telling on their older sibling for picking on them by the way)
Heyy, we've been mutuals for a while and I was wondering if you'd look into TADC? I think youd REALLY be interested in the abstraction scenes
Hello anon, I apologize for the delay in getting back to you but I decided that I would watch the entirety of the amazing digital circus and promptly ruminate on my findings. And while you are entirely correct about my interest in the abstraction scenes, I was surprised to find the character that I felt closest to out of anyone was
Gangle. Which I hesitate to call a kinfirmation but I definitely had some strong feelings about it I haven't entirely sorted through.
