In ancient civilizations when the first humans where born they were believed to be the Angels reincarnated as mortal beings because of this early humans were instantly made rulers, leaders, heigh priests, worshiped, and even sacrificed. There were a few tribes who believed that by sacrificing a human you are freeing the angel that’s trapped within allowing them to return to heaven and by feasting on there flesh you can gain immense strength and wisdom, but most commonly it’s viewed as a grave sin a curse turning someone into a beast that craves flesh and blood, this curse is known as Divine Revenge or Angel’s Revenge.
She’s the guardian of the Tree Of Mana, Lenny, in the og undertale au, Dreamtale, and like the last guardian I redesigned her to fit my world better.
It took me a LOT longer to figure out a design for this guy that I’m happy with I knew I wanted him to resemble an eastern dragon like Falkor from the Never Ending Story and also to have associations/representations to the moon by making his antlers look like a crescent moon from the side and has bunny/rabbit like features. Another design idea I had was that I wanted him to look like a herbivore to contrast his older brother’s carnivorous features, hinting at there differences. For the fruit I wanted the to look like grapes because grapes make wine witch can be a hallucinogen and in ancient times hallucinogens we’re used to enlighten oneself, see the future, and/or preform ceremonies.
 
Like the other guardian I had a hard time picking out the colors, strips was my saving grace.
The tree was also giving me a hard time with the colors, the fruit are a direct reference of the Witch’s Flower from the movie Marry and the Witch’s Flower.
Yo! So it’s been a while, I’m just giving up on trying to have a consistent posting schedule on this platform my perfectionism is to great. Thats not to say I haven’t been working on something in the meantime, but first dose anyone remember/know about this guy?
This is the only pic I can currently find. But this is Quezle and he has a sister named Lotle and together they are the guardians of the tree of life in the original undertale au Dreamtale by Jokublog. I LOVED the idea that the multiverse has some kind of a system to it with actual appointed guardians who aren’t just a copy of a skeleton:) I love it! Currently idk what the situation is with the Dreamtale animation or if we’ll ever see this guy as a real character… SO!! As the artist say ‘if you want it but they don’t have it then just make it yourself’. And I did >:}…
These are some sketches for a different character I was designing at the time but I decided having an actual reference of her father would make things more easier in trying to figure out some features and such. I did have the head (as you can see in the pic on the bottom left<-) and I was really happy with the design, but something didn’t seem right…
So I drew him digitally and tweaked a few things here and there, fleshed out the design of the antlers a bit more, and even sketched a ‘human’ version of him in the top right -> corner. I was really happy at this especially sense figuring out the antlers took FOREVER!! But something still didn’t look right…
I decided to take a break for a time and design him in a deferent way, at the time I had finally bought some brushes that I’ve been wanting for a while and wanted to see if I could do something cool with them. I had recently watched Fantasia 2000 with my family and the fire bird was the main inspiration here. The sketches on the top right -> are his first sketches and will be the main design for his older, grandpa, self. After I remember a technique that a fakemon artist uses sometimes when he designs his creatures and thats starting out with the silhouette and then adding details, like sculpting!
At this point I had also figured out some themes I also wanted to incorporate into his design, I wanted to keep the quetzalcoatl inspiration as the overall image but I wanted to add stuff at is related to life like the sun, fire, lion, and everything related to those…
I pushed his portions further and that was it! Now to figure everything else out 😀… (the antlers took forever!!)
And after figuring out some colors he’s finally finished!! I plan on making an animatic/animation about this guy and his two brothers and there I’ll explain a bit more about the lore and what I planned on doing with them. So this is my version of the guardian of life I present to you THE KING OF LIFE!!!
TBH I never really liked (Jokublog) Nightmare's crown because Dream doesn't have a sun on his so why dose nightmare have a moon on his? So with my nightmare I changed his crown to a bead like thing because why not and when you look at it from any angle it looks like a moon. Also isn't Dream and Nightmare technically not a sans because you know.... There magic mochi piloting skeleton suits.
