Desire’s Body Snippet
Sol panted a few time, licking his chapped lips. “If we don’t find some water soon…It’s not going to look good for us, love.” Tarana frowned realizing that they were surrounded by water. “Why couldn’t we drink the sea water? It smells sweet. Fruity even.” Sol sat up and said, “Yeah, I know. That’s why the Furore sea is dangerous. While it does smell like something we’d want to drink, it’s not. In fact, it will burn your tongue and mouth as soon as you drink it.”
“It will?” Tara’s worried eyes looked down at the jungle green waters.
“Yes. The properties of the water don’t do well with the enzymes in our mouths.”
Tarana slumped down into the boat at this news. “So we are really in trouble.” She could feel her throat cracking with each word she spoke.
“Now you’re getting it,” Sol replied as he leaned back against the boat with his right arm over his eyes. There was no use in sugar coating it for Tarana. The reality was if they didn’t find shore soon and fresh water, they would die from dehydration.
Here are the sounds of Sol and Tarana floating in the sea
