"So,you are the famous Peter Romanov. I've heard so much about you" Thena asked drily as she looked up at the rather popular and handsome boy. They were going on a double date set up by her best friend Maria who had the hots for Peter's best friend. "It's nice to finally meet you." She said extending a hand, giving him one of her patented sweet as sugar smiles.
"Oops." She giggled. "Did I forget to introduce myself? I'm Athena." Athena knew who Peter was even if he didn't know her. Had noticed him for years in fact.
"It is perfectly alright, in fact", he said simply, smiling a bit. "You have a pleasant laugh, Athena", he noted politely. Truth was he had noticed this girl quite a few times but somehow she had always escape his attention for a longer period of time.
"Oh why thank you." She said twirling a lock of her hair, which was one of her nervous habits. "Should we give them some alone time? They seem like they need it."
"You are welcome", he continued, enjoying the way she twisted her hair in her slender fingers. There was certain appeals to girls who displayed even nervousness in a lady-like way. "I believe so. After all, one must never stand in the way of love so shall we?", he asked, offering her his arm.
"No, and surely they love each other with as much time as they have spent together." She replied looking back at the two of them who were gazing at each other with love. "Did you finally agree to go on this date? Marie has been trying to convince me for forever."
"It seems they do indeed", he replied, casting a glance to his friend and smiling a bit. "Love makes for a great sight, don't you agree? But yes, I had not much choice seeing as one cannot afford to stand in the way of love, now can they?", he asked a bit smugly.
She shook her head biting back a laugh. "Oh, don't seem that unexcited to see me. I'm quite entertaining you know." She said a slight smirk on her lips. "I would show you-but it could be too much for you."
"You are? My oh my", he said, rising an eyebrow, then smirking. "I would have to take your word, seeing as I'm a gentleman and perhaps it is for the greater good because I could easily turn to be too much fun for you."
"Oh! now you claim to be a gentleman?" She asked raising an eyebrow. "I rather like gentlemen you know, and I really don't think you could ever be too much fun for me." This was fun, Thena could admit to herself. He was witty and smart and entirely too good looking for her own good.
"I beg pardon? 'Claim' is a verb that cannot possibly apply to my humble persona." He gave her one of those charming smiles that worked miracles everywhere he wentr. But still, this one girl was fun - she was not head-over-heels with him from the moment he walked in and it was refreshing. And she was beautiful and smart too as a bonus. "You like gentlemen, you say? Marvelous, seeing as I'm quite fond of ladies myself. But beware because not every lady can handle the amount of fun I could be."
"You, humble? A jokester to boot. How quaint" she replied airily giving him a charming a smile in return. A smile that worked wonders on everyone around her. She was a golden girl here, everyone loved her and wanted to be her. It was a wonder she never met Peter earlier. "I am a lady, and everyone knows ladies have the most fun. But if you don't want to find out—it would be your loss."
"Now, humble and honest are complimentary, my lady. I was merely stating the truth, ask whoever you wish to confirm", he replied confidently. He was the king of this castle and girls wanted to be with him while boys secretly wished to be him. But one thing was certain - Peter Romanov was the golden boy of Durmstrang. Quite surprising this one girl had evaded his attention, in fact. "I believe it would've been utterly impolite of me to require a lady to display how fun she is but if the lady wishes to prove her words, I'd be more than happy to know exactly how fun she is."
"Oh I already know what everyone say to it." She said waving a hand. If she was the golden new girl, than he was the reigning golden boy. Somehow their paths had come into contact a few times but this was the first time they had talked for prolonged periods of time. "That's a rather circulatory way of saying, yes I would like to have fun with you Romanov. But I accept."
"I'm throughly glad to have both of those matters settled in that case." The world were said in a manner that implied he had foreseen such a turn of events because he actually had. After all, Romanovi were well know for getting what they wanted and he was no exception. "Seeing as it was the lady to take the initiative here, I believe it is only fair for me to take the lead now, no?"
"I would love for you to take the lead. It is the gentleman's job after all." she said with a slight roll of her eyes. She only took the initiative because she didn't care how forward she was being. When she wanted something, she got it. She just knew things with Romanov would be highly-interesting. And it would serve to make the other girls quite jealous of her, which she rather liked.
AU Royals where they break up because Peter is betrothed to another girl and he ends up breaking it when he can't stand it anymore. Of course that very day he runs into Thena while it's raining outside.
For three hours he had wondered about in the rain, aimlessly going up and down streets in search of something that he didn't know. Just then, a voice attracted his attention. "Pardon?"
"Peter?" she called out when she thought he saw his unmistakable hair sticking out. "What are you doing here?" she asked. She was walking through the rain back to her flat since she had decided a little walk would do her good. The last few months had been tough on her but she was ok, mostly. She was surprised to see him here, she hadn't seen him at all since she had said goodbye in St. Mungos. She knew she would regret saying hi to him tomorrow, but she couldn't help herself.
"Athena?", he asked even if he recognized her on the spot. It was pouring buckets out there and so his idea about saying he was walking would sound illogical to her but yet he had no idea what else o say. In all honesty, he was supposed to be looking for a hotel for the night but somehow that was not what he was doing so he just shrugged casually and replied "A stroll in the rain seemed pleasant". Then, a bit concerned he asked "How are you?"
"That's funny I had the same thought." she said with a laugh. "I was going to do a spell to keep me dry but then I realized I'm in muggle London. So I stuck with an umbrella instead." she said waving her umbrella. She had no idea what she was talking about and she was sure she was just blabbing about nothing right now. "I'm...good." she said a smile on her face. "Just heading home."
"Really?", he asked, a bit amused by her laughter. All through her explanation, he nodded, realizing he should've gotten an umbrella. But it was too late now seeing as there was water dripping from him. "A wise choice indeed", he agreed, smiling a bit. "Would you mind me walking with you?", he asked, figuring he had no set location to visit anyway.
"No go ahead." She said as she looked over at him. "You look wet, you sure you don't want me to do a drying spell or share an umbrella?"
"Thank you", he said, smiling a bit as he started walking beside her. "No, no, I'm fine. I don't think I get any wetter than that anyhow", he joked.
"Okay suit yourself." she said smiling a bit. It was nice to see him again, she felt whole again like the missing part in her heart was returned to her. If only for a little bit. "So, how are you?" she asked looking over at him. She was a little afraid of what he would say but she couldn't help but ask.
"Oh I'm good. Today is a particularly fine day", he said truthfully. Of course, his choice had left him with no home or money but freedom he had never really experienced so he relished at the sensation. And the fact she was smiling, made his day even better, to the point he could almost ignore the chill from the cold autumn rain. "Where do you live now, by the way?"
She looked over at him and answered. "Yeah I moved into a new flat. It's close to work and Lex so it's perfect." She said with a nod. Life was okay, living on her own again was a hard adjustment but in a way she enjoyed the solitude.
"We are actually here right now." she said pointing up at the flat. "Um, would you like to come in?"
"I see. That's great news", he said, trying to sound positive. He himself had gotten a house of his own but to return there was unthinkable because it was bought with his father's money and he was pretty much on his own now.
"I would love to", he agreed even if it was not the smartest of moves. Most likely both of them would end up upset somehow.
She nodded as he opened the door to her apartment building. She pressed the up button for the elevator and waited for it to arrive. She tapped her foot impatiently on the tile floor. She was nervous, and she had a pretty good reason as to why she was. "You look healed though. I'm glad there were no lasting scars or anything."
"Thank you. They had plenty of dittany", he said simply, observing how impatient she was. Obviously, he wasn't the only on ill at easo so maybe it was best he went now with as little damage as possible. "If you'd like me to leave, I don't mind", he suggested.
"Oh no it's fine. I just don't understand why this elevator is getting so slowly." She said as the elevator finally dinged. "Oh there we are." She said as she stepped in. "Really, I don't want you to leave."
"Okay then, he agreed, smiling a bit nervously. "I don't really like muggle inventions but it look functioning right to me." Then again, he only said it not to add to the already tense air in the room. "Thank you though. That is a very kind thing to say.'
"I don't much either. But when you live in a muggle building it's best to be...normal." she said with a giggle. "Or as normal as I'm going to get." She nodded her head. "Uh of course."
"Muggle building?", he asked a bit confused. "How would your father permit it?" Then again, he didn't mind muggles as much as certain people did. They were a nuisance but harmless.
"He...kind of doesn't know I live here?" she asked. "I got this with my own money. I just wanted to try somewhere new. He thinks I live with Lex."
"That is very impressive", he said honestly. "But why aren't you living with your brother? I trust it has nothing to do with that little accident a few months back?"
"I-personal reasons." she said with a smile as the elevator dinged and they walked out. She turned left and kept walking until she got to hers. She took out her keys and unlocked the door. "Here we are, my humble abode." she said opening the door for him.
"I do hope it has nothing to do with what happened, but if it does, please don't hold him responsible. I know what he means to you", Peter said sympathetically as he followed her in the elevator. Her apartment wasn't big but it was well-decorated and reminded him of the one they used to share. "It is a lovely place indeed", he observed. "You've got and excellent taste as usual."
"It doesn't, I just needed a change and I needed a place to myself is all." she said simply as she set her stuff down by the door. "Thanks." she said looking around with a smile. She loved this place, it was her sanctuary, particularly since no one knew about it but Lex and Roxy. Well now Peter too.
"I see", he agreed, watching her as she set her things down. "I'd better get this water situation under control before the carpet suffers", he joked, pulling out his wand and casting a drying charm. "So where do you work now?", he asked. She had mentioned something about her work place being nearby.
"I still work at the ministry." she said. "By work is close by I just mean the nearest point I can apparate from." she said with a sigh pointing to the fireplace "I don't have the flop set up here since I'm trying to keep a low profile.
"That's good to hear", he said simply. Of course, with muggles around, it would be best to keep a low profile indeed. "Listen, do you know any good hotels nearby?", he asked casually.
"A hotel?" she asked confused looking over at him. "Why do you need a hotel for?" she asked. "Don't you have a place to stay?"
"Oh no, no, I just need some... well, okay maybe I do but I've got enough money to afford it, don't worry", he replied, trying to sound as convincing as possible.
She rolled her eyes at him. "You are making no sense Peter. Sit down." she said as she sat down on the couch and motioned for him to take a seat. "Why are you staying at a hotel?"
He followed her suggestion and took a seat on the coach. "Because... Am I not allowed to stay at a hotel?", he asked, trying to avoid the topic. After all, she probably had little interest in his private affairs.
"I mean of course you can..." she said trailing off before deciding that it was fine if he didn't want to tell her. They weren't anything right now, she reminded herself. She didn't have to be concerned for him. "Yeah I'll give you a list." she said reaching over to grab a piece of parchment and scribbled on it with her quill. "Here" she said handing the list over to him."
"Thank you", he said, taking the list from her. "Were you asking out of politeness?', he heard himself saying before he could even stop his mouth from opening. They were nothing now, why else would she want to know? He was just being an idiot again.
"Partially." she said after moment. "I-I almost forgot that we weren't anything and I got worried. I thought maybe you got into a fight again with your parents." she said after a moment. She looked away from him. "Never mind what I just said."
"I understand", he said, after listening to her attentively. "My parents have sworn me off by now, most likely, but anyway, don't worry. I can handle it. I mean, no one said being a king would be easy and I'm not even that yet", he joked but realized it was inappropriate. "Anyhow, thank you for the list. It'll be useful in the future."
"I know you can.You always could. Remember what I said about the weight of the crown though Peter." she said a smile on her face thinking about one of their first conversations in the library when she was making fun of him. "Yeah of course. Just-you know you could always stay with me? I mean I don't have another bed but if you don't want to pay for a hotel. It wouldn't be a inconvenience."
"I told you even back then, I'm an expert", he replied jokingly. The memory of one of their first conversations came into his mind and he smiled without realizing it. "I... you're very kind to offer but... I'd hate to cause you anymore trouble than I already did so... thank you anyhow."
"Really it wouldn't be any trouble at all." she said fidgeting with her hands. "I-I've missed you." she murmured under her breath. She didn't know whether or not she wanted him to overhear her. "So really, it wouldn't be a hassle at all."
"I.. ermm", he said, loosening up his tie a bit. He though she said she had missed him but it was probably wishful thinking so he didn't know what to make of her insistence. "I suppose, if you wouldn't mind", he finally said, shrugging a bit.
"I wouldn't mind." she said thinking for a moment. "I only have one bedroom but you can sleep on the couch if you don't mind?" she asked. "I have a couch that folds out to a bed." she said talking about the couch in the second bedroom that she used for a office. "I use the second bedroom for a office." she explained motioning to the door that was behind him.
"Not a problem. You don't have to bother with folding it out, really", he said. "I'm putting you at an inconvenience here, aren't I?", he added after some careful consideration. "Maybe it is best I found a hotel room somewhere. It would save you the trouble and all."
"Stop Peter" she said rolling her eyes. "I've decided, you are staying okay." she said giving him a little pout. She knew she could never resist her pout. She forgot though that they were nothing, so she probably shouldn't have used the pout. But sue her, some things just came naturally
He was about to protest further butthen she pouted and he could not deny her. Truth be told, it was very hard to deny her anything at all even if now they were nothing, but some habits remained for good, he assumed so he just went with it. "Okay, as you wish, my lady", he replied, smiling a bit.
"Good." she beamed up at him. She couldn't help herself, sometimes she just wanted to slap herself. "You should always listen to me Mr. Royalty, I'm always right."
"Yeah", he said, laughing at her response. For a moment it felt as if everything was back to normal again, like Anna had never even existed. "So what is your advice, my lady?"
"That you should...I don't know actually. I'm all out of advice today." she said with a giggle. "You should ask me in the morning Mr. Royal when I'm a genius!"
"Oh so your genius has a set working schedule, I see? How effort-saving", he joked, joining in her laughter. "I'll be sure to ask you in the morning then", he responded, calming down a bit. "But really, what am I to do now?"
"I know right? I'm taking lazy to the next level." she said with a playful shrug. "I don't know." she said walking over and sitting next to him. "About what Peter? I can't give you advice on the moon you know. You are going to have to be a little more specific."
♔ Every single one! (Namely: Beauty & The Beast, Rolex, Thalex, Royals, Bonnie and Clyde, Glory & Wisdom)
Beauty and the Beast
The first time Alice kills a human on accident she didn’t talk to the Count at all holing up in a corner and looking out the window. She had accepted being a vampire but hadn’t accepted killing people yet. Demon sat patiently at her feet as the Count paced around her.
Rolex
The first time Alex says I love you he says it when he proposes to her. He said it softly as he slipped the ring on her finger and she stops him and asks what he said. So he says it louder the second time and she beams down at him and gives him a big hug. (Okay this got fluffy)
Thalex
Thena wanted to kill Amycus and Alecto with Lex but he refused saying he wanted to kill Amycus himself. Thena knowing about his childhood agreed but said that Alecto would be hers. If Amycus tortured Lex, Alecto tortured Thena.
Royals
Hmm they get married in a ceremony in St. Paul’s cathedral(a very traditional wedding fit for the royals tbh) and Peter surprises her with a castle in the countryside because he knows that she’s wanted that for a long time. And they only have one daughter that decided to name Anastasia Romanov(because Thena couldn’t pass up the irony of that name). She’s their only heir and her grandparents don’t like Thena & Ana because they wanted a son and Thena was unable to have kids after Ana. It becomes a sore spot with Thena though Peter reassures her that he doesn’t care that Ana can be his heir.
Bonnie & Clyde
The first time Michael met Claire he knew she was the girl for him. She didn't notice him at first since he was quieter than she was. It wasn't until two years later when they had to work on a group project did the two start talking, and the rest as they say is history.
Glory & Wisdom
Wisdom trains Glory and although at the beginning he’s the best fighter, by the end of the trainee course she is able to take him down in front of the class(which was kind of humiliating to him) but only showed how powerful Glory had gotten.
All three, namely Rolex, Royals and Beauty&Beast! ^_^
Rolex:
shops for groceries: Roxy makes the list but the elves tend to do it.
kills the spiders: If they are together Alex will but Roxy isn’t afraid of killing them herself.
comes home drunk at 3am: Neither honestly.
makes breakfast: Probably Roxy but only on days she doesn’t have work, Alex has no idea how to cook so most likely the house elves cook.
remembers to feed the fish: If anyone Roxy would, but I doubt they would have fish.
decorates the apartment: Roxy for sure, as Alex could care less.
initiates duets: Roxy for sure, mostly Alex won’t join in when she randomly jams out to music since he cant carry a tune but he will watch her with a smile on his face.
falls asleep first: Probably Roxy, Alex tends to have insomnia and sometimes can’t go to sleep right away.
Royals
shops for groceries: Thena probably would shop for groceries and drag him along sometimes.
kills the spiders: Both would.
comes home drunk at 3am: If anything they would come home together drunk at 3 am or stay in and drink because well that’s just what they do.
makes breakfast: Thena on the weekends and the house elves on the week days.
remembers to feed the fish: Well they don’t have fish, they have a husky named Hurricane. Between the two, Thena is more likely to remember to feed him.
decorates the apartment: Thena for sure, I don’t think Peter would care at all.
initiates duets: Definitely Thena though she mostly successfully convinces him to join in.
falls asleep first: Both fall asleep fairly quickly.
Beauty and the Beast
shops for groceries: None of them would. That’s what the servants are for.
kills the spiders: Both would.
comes home drunk at 3am: Neither would, Count sometimes will come in the wee hours of the day from hunting or on a mission but not from being drunk.
makes breakfast: Neither.
remembers to feed the fish: Well they don’t have fish, they have a wolf like dog named Demon that Alice feeds mostly from her own plate.
decorates the apartment: Well the Castle was already furnished for 700 years before Alice showed up. Alice has made little touches here and there since she’s lived there but it’s still mostly the Count’s design.
initiates duets: Neither really sing, but if anyone initiated it would be Alice.
falls asleep first: Alice for sure, the Count sometimes can’t sleep.
