krattcest (high school au?) idea where Chris is going on his first date ever and asks Martin for help with it.

Martin proposes that they have a "practice" date so he can show Chris how its done and Chris agrees only out of desperation. Throughout the "date" Martin walks him through a perfect date and does such a surprisingly good job that Chris actually starts falling for him little by little. He gets very flustered because of this and starts silently questioning everything about himself.

Martin is a bit clueless as all he wants to do is be a good big brother and just accounts the constant blushing and nervousness to Chris being embarrassed/nervous for his real date.

I've actually thought about this before and I think you're right about it starting with Martin (at least a little). I always thought of it with Martin just wanting to baby Chris because he of course wants to take care of him and protect him. Like I can see Martin being the type of person who naturally gravitates toward taking care of the people he loves. Taking care of Chris is practically second nature to him. He worries about him, watches out for him, makes sure he's eating, sleeping, and generally not running himself into the ground. So I can absolutely see Martin discovering that he enjoys having opportunities to dote on Chris and getting a lot of fulfillment out of being trusted with that level of care.

Chris also I feel just has a had time letting go? Like I don't think he is a full control freak but I see him as someone who can easily stress himself out if you let him and I think Martin catches onto it/knows this.

So while I see Chris being hesitant at first (maybe even a little embarrassed by the idea) I think the appeal for him would eventually become less about being babied and more about what it represents emotionally. It's one of the few situations where he doesn't have to be responsible for anything. He doesn't have to make decisions, solve problems, or hold himself together for everyone else. He gets to hand all of that over to someone he trusts completely and just exist for a while.

All I'm saying is let that man regresssss he deserves to be baby

Basically: Martin starts it because he likes caring for Chris. Chris stays because he discovers just how nice it feels to be cared for.

Hmmm I have a few but i feel like they end up overlapping a lot

Chris has a type A personality / Martin has type B. I like the serious younger vs laid-back older a lot and it fits them really well imo

Chris being more cautious/shy about their relationship. I also like the idea of him being the one to have fallen first or at least to have realized he had fallen first

When their relationship shifted from brotherly to romantically I think there was like 0 change for Martin. Like they were the same as before except now they kiss with tongue sometimes

In terms of love languages Martin loves spending time the most while prefers to give physical touch more vs Chris who prefers to get words of affirmation and give acts of service

Chris has a hard time sleeping without Martin

i was watching s7 e12 where chris sprains his ankle bc he was too excited about meeting chimpanzees. at the beginning of the ep he'ds waking everybody up at 5 AM and everyone (except martin!!!!) was like "dawg.... its way too early i wanna go back to bed.....". but martin got up and was ready to go do cool chimp stuff with his bro! martin was so happy that chris was so happy...!!!

that part of the episode just made me so giddy and happy !! the part where aviva and martin also comfort him after he sprains his ankle was also rlly cute.

this made me wanna write a fic where one of the kratt brothers wakes the other up to do a cool adventure he's super excited about. even though the sleepy-woken-up brother that isnt excited abt it, he gets up and gets excited bc his bro is excited.. i was just pondering which brother is the early bird and which is the night owl (or perhaps they are both the night owl? or both the early bird?)

I think they're both early birds but Chris is MUCH MORE of the early bird than Martin. Like I do feel in my heart that Chris is the one waking up at sunrise every morning. He's waking up and having his breakfast and enjoying the peacefulness true and true 😌

this is actually really similar to my thoughts when writing Stay a Little Longer !!! In that fic I made it sound more like Chris wakes up earlier for more so walk of shame reasons but I do genuinely feel like he'd get up early regardless! Martin however I feel enjoys sleeping in time to time when he gets the chance to ^^

I think that they hide their relationship from the crew as much as they can - at least in the beginning - and because of this they have a lot of weird/awkward interactions at first.

One thing is their attempts at secretly flirting - I have another post about them mimicking mating rituals with one another bc its a sly way for them to flirt without being obvious to the team since it comes off as a joke easily. With that I have a draft that has them talking about praying mantises and Martin telling Chris that he'd let him eat his head ❤️🥀 who said romance is dead

Beyond that imagine attempted date nights on the tortuga?? Dinner dates getting crashed bc Jimmy walked in and thought it smelled good. Movie date but Aviva LOVES this movie so pause it real quick while she makes popcorn. Game night together but Koki insists on being dealt in on the next hand. You see the pattern.

Just of the idea of them doing all of this stuff that the team believes is 1000% innocent in the moment but then LATER when they find/figure out Chris and Martin's true relationship theyre like 🧍‍♂️ oh.

As for headcanons i kinda feel like chris and martin get A LOT of leeway with the gang for how affectionate they can be before anyone starts suspecting stuff/if they ever do. Like i feel like the tortugang just thinks theyre really close and thus dont question stuff. Like i feel like they get to the point where theyre all but being explicit sbout their relationship and it goes over the tortugang's heads but any outsider would be like ummm 🤨
