Unpopular Opinion
Unpopular opinion, based recent media images and on a watching of the Apple Music Festival show yesterday: 1D need a break for both physical and health reasons. Harry looks dead-eyed and unhappy, and a decade older than his 21 years. Louis, always my favorite, seems to be in positive spirits but looks like a meth head: too thin, with wrinkled clothes, scraggly beard and bad posture. No judgement on whatever substances he’s choosing to use, but he’s a great looking guy who’s currently looking awful. I sincerely hope he uses the time off to get healthy and get voice lessons: he has a lovely plaintive quality to his voice, but not enough breath control and pitch discipline. After five years, his key mistakes aren’t cute anymore, particularly when he has the ability to do better. Liam is clearly overwhelmed and anxious: he may be in the worst shape psychologically. I also think he’s too thin for his body structure, and that all the self-denial involved with trying to keep himself in “Hollywood” shape is playing with his mind. I thought Niall was generally doing well, except for his foot injury (which is often a symptom of stress, I’ve had it myself), but his sudden departure from the stage during the Apple Music Festival is not a good sign, either. These guys need rest and relaxation, psychologically as well as physically.
