You’d be surprised at how many people in this FB crochet group suggested exactly that =D but idk it seems kinda creepy and both of the eyes are left, so I’d need to make a new one anyway, so i’ll go with open on this one, but who knows, maybe another frog in near future =D

The market for academia is poor enough right now that it isn’t worth it to me to risk pursuing it. The idea of spending 7 more years in school only to be forced to move to Nebraska or somewhere equally depressing because I can’t get hired anywhere else is more than enough to put me off, especially because being enrolled in a PhD program has the potential to totally soul crushing. The cost is also a factor; I attend a very expensive university as is, and it strikes me as unwise to enter graduate school with the debt that I already have.

For a long time I bought into the whole social justice thing, feeling guilty for my secretly held scepticism (particularly of all the doublespeak surrounding gender identity). I just cant toe the party line any longer.

Well, now you can start feeling guilty for previously buying into it. The guilt never ends!
