Passing along a metaphor that we've been using lately when telling offline friends that we're plural:

"It might help to think of us as being like employees at a company. Up until recently, you've known us as the company we work at (our legal or shared name). The company isn't a person on its own, though. You can't talk to Microsoft or Adobe- there's just a bunch of guys manning the phone lines. We're the guys manning the phone lines."

- Stealth to everyone except romantic/sexual partners and very close friends

- Stealth to strangers, coworkers etc. but open to people within certain communities and friends

- Stealth as default, but able to choose when to give out that information depending on the person and situation

- Open as default, but able to choose to go stealth depending on the person or situation

- Openly trans as much as possible

- So openly trans that it's impossible for anyone to think otherwise

- I'm unsure what my desired stealthness will be
