Blood Spell

Blood Mage feline art from 2012. Would be fun to do some DnD character art like this.

I painted rune spells of blood dripping from his fingertips and included Odin's Illusionary Rune in the back and Ottastafur in the front and he's standing in the middle of an Inguz rune.

This was maybe 35-40 hours of work. 15 hours of it was in a straight session. Perhaps why my back is ruined forever? Probably lol. The past be the past though.

Medium: Watercolor, acrylics, marker, colored pencil

You know what’s a great idea? Poorly tattooing a bunch of magical symbols that a) aren’t supposed to be tattooed, b) you don’t understand and c) could backfire in some hilariously awful ways 

(”instead of striking fear in your enemies the stave may perhaps make you deadly ill, or paranoid for life, neither of which is probably the warrior-like quality you were after”).

                   (    even more nasty sideboob, but with a proper Óttastafur tattoo this time. The dotwork wasn’t even planned, but I absolutely love how it turned out. I feared it would clash with the simple linework of the other sigils/runes I have, but it actually fits really well ♥   )
