The Giant River Otter!

Giant river otters, AKA river monsters are the largest breed of otters, from 3-5 1/2 feet and 75 pounds (modern day). giant river otters have webbed feet, long tale and streamlined body, perfect for their habitat. Prehistorically, theese big boys got from 6-8 feet and over 88 pounds. What makes giant river otters different from most is their sheet and utter size. Theese otters are my personal favorite, they have a bite force of 414.6 newtons, around 93 pounds of force. Sadly, you CANNOT pet one of them 💔💔, as you'll get three or more diseases .

The fan favorite, Asain Small-Clawed Otter!

The Asain Small-Clawed Otter is the smallest breed of otter, being 28-36 inches with 10-14 inches of it being tale and only up to 10 pounds. Theese very adorable otters are known for being the housepet otter, if you want a pet otter this is the one. Their native range is from India to Southeast Asia, their ideal habit is mangrove swamps, wetlands, ricefeilds and costal lagoons. Theese otters are more nocturnal than most otters, Asain Small-Clawed Otters are probably the most social otter, they live on clans of 10-14 and have a variety of noises to communicate. Theese are the most commonly seen otter in homes and zoos. Again, DO NOT PET ONE. THEY ARE SMALL AND MIGHTY.

Congo Clawless Otter!

Theese silly guys are a are SubSpecies of the African Clawless Otter. Congo Clawless otters are sespeifclly found in and around the Congo of Africa. They are 24-39 inches long and weight from 31-57 pounds, a larger otter but still not as big as an Giant River Otter. Theese otters are unique because of their markings and behavior, they prefer land over water and prefer marshes, wetlands and swamps as habits. What makes theese otter special is their rarity, marking and preferences. Sadly, not very much is known about theese goobers :(, they're one of my favorite otter species and i hope mote is learnt about them! and again please DO NOT pet one or you might be missing a hand.

Sea Otter!

(happy otter day!)

Again, another fan favorite the Sea otter. They measure anywhere from 3-5 feet and weight in from 10-40 pounds, the 2nd largest otter. Sea otters are known for their cute antics and are bt far the most popular, usually all otters are just called sea otters but that isnt true. Sea otters stay 2/3rds of a mile from the shore (1km). Very few of theese goobers are left wild but are more abundant in Russia. Again, pleade DO NOT pet one.

African Clawless Otter!

The African Clawless Otter is the 3rd largest breed of otter, next to the congo clawless and giant river otter. Many people call theese goobers White-Cheeked otters. They are 42-62 inches (3-5 feets) and weigh anywhere from about 26-35 pounds. Theese otters are very versatile and will live anywhere in Africa aslong as there is freshwater to wash salt water off. Theese goobers are extremely powerfull with long and sensitive whiskers for hunting in any condition. They can live in highly polluted areas. African Clawless Otters are not threatened. They prefer to live by themselves but will live in neighboring otter groups with young or spouses. African Clawless Otters are very cleaver and inquisive even being one of them less social of the otter breeds. Please DON'T pet one.

Hairy-Nosed Otter

The Hairy-Nosed Otter is by far the most rare type of otter, living only in Thailand and the Philippines . They prefer swamps and mangroves. Their size ranges from 22-33 inches and weight from 11-18 pounds. Hairy-Nosed Otters are endangered due to their small habit size. Theese sillys are deemed hard to identify due to their similarities to the other Asain otters. Theese otters are so rare that there is ONE in captivity and their conservative status is very unknown.

Southern Sea Otter!

The Southern Sea Otter is a SubSpecies of the Sea Otter, is somewhat similar in appearance, they have whiter faces and are smaller from 3-5 feet but weight 35-65 pounds, they have much less dense fur. Fun otter face, they lack a layer of fat called Blubber that protects marine animals. Southern Sea Otters are critically endangered, they only live in a small coastal region of California but are protected. They are not very quick moving on land like a majority of otter species, witch have legs. Southerners Sea otters are made to live in water and have more fins than legs, to propell. The Population is slowly declining and will be the first species to go. :(
