My baby historical characters series continues and today it's about Holy Roman Emperor Otto III

The poor guy died at 21 and lived life as an extremely intelligent person but also an very devout christian.

He was called mirabilia mundi (more or less world's wonder or astonishment) due to his intellect.

I think he must have been a bright observant kid but he was also kidnapped by Henry II the Quarrelsome at 3 years old, so I think that must have at least left a sign on his psyche or something.

* I imagined that there would be some impressive funeral monument, but apparently that's not the case. Perhaps there were no room since Otto was buried next to Charlemagne.

On May 21, 996 AD, Otto III was crowned Holy Roman Emperor at the young age of 16.

Otto III, van Duitsland, het besluit dat die tyd aangebreek het om daardie onnavolgbare en moeë meester na sy kant te roep: Gerbert het reeds sy definitiewe vertrek uit Reims voorberei, maar sy rol in die teenstelling van die onlogiese besluite van die Kerk van Rome het 'n skool gebly. van die lewe: vanaf Saint-Basel tot Gerbert se verloëning is 'n fundamentele bladsy geskryf in die Afrikaaners ekklesiologie en ter verdediging van individuele vryhede teen mag: aan die een kant 'n biskop wat jaloers was op sy eie outonomie en aan die ander kant die stompe soewereiniteit van die Kerk van Rome ; in 997 het Gerbert Reims verlaat om na die hof van Otto III te gaan: 'n ballingskap wat bedaar het met die terugkeer na studies en met die voorbereiding vir nuwe, beslissende, finale verhore.
