Well it’s set in our world but it’s an alternate history which allows me to play around with things and not adhere to a strict timeline

It’s a war between 3 factions made up of 3 brothers

Cause by a succession crisis after the old sultan died

If you’re a regular woman kept in the harem, you have a secret

If you’re the daughter of the sultan, they’re attempting to use you as a bargaining chip in marriage

Can it be a toggle if you are attracted exclusively to women? The brother I mean

No. That’s why this game will have quite an amount of trigger warnings

Being a woman or looking like one has never been easy and men who are pests don’t care what you like. Lesbians get harassed by guys all the time

This has already been asked before probably but if not... I was thinking for the gender locked IFs you're brainstorming, will mc identify differently only in their head? I can't imagine the cast in either of them respecting MC's pronouns. I'm assuming that regardless of how they identify the ottoman MC will be referred to as a woman and is AFAB and the WWI? MC will be referred to as a man and locked to AMAB because in militaries they have physicals.

They can ask their ROs and loved ones to refer to them a specific way in private. Although the war if mc has more chances of being able to actually live out their trans life when they get back home. There were openly trans people out in the 70s

I mean how can they be royal if they’re not related to the royal family? Unless you mean royalty from a foreign place

So harems weren’t for women. They were for the sultan to get heirs. The sultan would usually choose a favourite that could technically become the wife if they were the mother of the sultan’s heir but that doesn’t mean he would stop producing more spares

There’s obviously more to it than sexual. It political too

In that route the mc is within the harem. With the understanding that they are the sultan’s concubine. Not all harem women slept with him but there were those that did and lucky you, you just happen to catch his eye (/s)

I find it icky to add dubious or rape “for plot reasons” unless rape is a main theme of the story. WWC has never had rape as a theme for Crowny and it doesn’t need to

Like the ottoman if will have instances of attempted rape because it serves a purpose and commentary about women’s positions in history and even then I will allow the player to have a choice (ironically) on whether they are assaulted or not
