New Skullgirls comic episode 8 is out now and it's wild

Skullgirls - Episode 8

Parasoul, the princess of the Canopy Kingdom follows a trail of misery and murder throughout the city of New Meridian to uncover the crimes

Now this chapter was wild. The big appearance of Marie and a lot of great action with the Egrets AND Medici having to fight her and her skeleton army. I suspected that it was going to be Ms Fortune who crashed through the window, turns out it was Marie who was my second guess. Lorenzo still has to lose that life gem though, which I assume him having it is why Marie's fire didn't hurt him. Marie made short work of his goons, really demonstrating her power and adding to her army. I love that those goons resemble Marie's skeleton assists in the game, which was a nice attention to detail and explains where they came from. Another detail I like is Ottomo getting stabbed by a bone but not dying because they're actually a robot being piloted by a small creature, the cockpit obviously not being what was damaged. It was especially cool getting to see how Roxy fights, with the backpack that her girlfriend Roxy gave her. The backpack that turns into a big robot. You know I've seen pictures of her in the robot but didn't know it folds up into a backpack, so that's cool. Black Dahlia finally getting to do something was cool too, and I'm guessing if anyone is going to do some damage to Marie it will be her.

Can you write a story of Ottomo and Cerebella defeating peacock and after the fight they start to regret being with the Medicis

Cerebella watched from afar as the band of unconscious misfits were restrained and searched for weapons by her fellow Medicis. Despite the mess the fight had left the room in and the absurd goons strewn across the floor, her eyes barely left the unmoving form of their young boss, the once lethal metal arms lying limply against the floor. Cerebella had taken a beating herself, but her mind wasn’t on her wounds.

“Ottomo?“

The automaton standing company beside her answered promptly. “Yes, miss?“

“Do you think we did the right thing?“

He took a moment, but if he was taken aback his tone was no indication. “We did as Vitale ordered. And preformed quite admirably at that.“

He was echoing Vitale’s earlier praise to them, but Cerebella didn’t seem to take the compliment this time.

“Do you think that was the right thing?“

“We defended our employers and ourselves from violent intruders. Besides, she clearly isn’t in her right mind. Do you believe that isn’t a worthy cause?“

“I mean, yeah, but….” She gently twisted Vice Versa in her hands. “She’s a little girl, Ottomo.“

“That’s not our fault.“

Cerebella turned around. Her companion assumed she was preparing to retire to her room for the night, but instead she walked to the nearby window that overlooked the city.

“Did you know about the refugees?” She asked quietly.

“The what?“

“They’ve been kidnapping refugees from the No Man’s Land and keeping them in warehouses by the docks.“

He answered indirectly, not to dodge the question but out of surprise instead. “Did you not know?“

“No, not until tonight. I overheard one of the captains talking about it earlier. And from what it sounded, they aren’t being protected either. It’s slave trading.“

Of course Ottomo knew, having heard the details from Vitale’s meetings. But it sure didn’t sound the same way when she said it in that tone, especially remembering her origins weren’t far off from theirs.

“While I was fighting, I noticed something.“ She continued. “I thought those toony eyes of hers were just part of her act. But up close…I could swear they looked like empty sockets. I thought maybe Lab 8 did that to her, experimented on her like Black Dahlia said they did. But when I heard them talking about the warehouses….”

She took a breath.

“They said she might have been from there. We can all tell she hated the Medicis. And while I didn’t fight the Skullgirl one-on-one, I heard they share that idea.“

Ottomo said nothing, perhaps more telling than anything he could have said in response.

“It might be dumb, but I can’t stop thinking…what if Lab 8 weren’t the ones who took her real eyes? Or her arms? Or whatever other parts of that aren’t human anymore? What if they were only giving her what she needed? What if we…what if it’s our…?“

She couldn’t say it. To both of them, after years of devotion, the thought was unbearable. Almost betrayal.

“She’s just a little girl, Ottomo.“

“We…“ The hesitation in his voice could no longer be hidden. “We did what was best for the family.“

“Yeah.” She said with a deep tired sigh. “We sure did.“

The staff were now finishing their task of clearing the office of the defeated gang, carrying who they could muster and dragging the rest behind. Before the parade of thugs disappeared behind the elevator doors, one of Peacock’s eyes fluttered open. Only the two solemn observers seemed to notice.

Neither said a word.
