i watched michael's amas (1980) speech last night & lord this man really makes my heart race. i'm so heated like that was supposed to be my boyfriend. anyway, otw!michael as your first boyfriend (and eventual husband let's be serious) would be soooooooo cute.
he asked you out while you two were at the park. you could tell he was extra nervous about something, and you really hoped it was because he was going to ask you out. & you were right!! he kinda fiddled around with the grass, eyes darting everywhere except you, pulling on his collar etc. you asked him if he was alright, and that's when he was like
"i was wondering if you'd like to, y'know, be my girlfriend." but he said it so soft & low you asked him to repeat it! so he made sure to look directly at you this time, and of course you would've collapsed if you weren't already sitting as his pretty eyes peered into yours. and he asked you with more confidence.
"i'd really like to be your boyfriend, if that's okay."
in public the two of you would hold hands, but also in private too! it's just the two of you on the couch & you're still interlocked, michael occasionally bringing it up to place a soft kiss to the back of your hand. he liked mindlessly rubbing his thumb up and down it too. you'd fallen asleep on him a couple of times because of how soothing the motion was, and michael would always kiss the top of your forehead just as you drifted off.
also! if you two ever get into an argument, always expect michael to be at your door either the same day or next day holding the biggest flower bouquet you've ever seen. he even appeared with a hamster as an apology gift one day. when he upsets you, you threaten to take away his hamster visitation rights.
however if you get into a more serious argument, michael wouldn't raise his voice or storm away. he tries his best to make sure you're completely heard. never makes you feel like your opinion doesn't matter, and of course you do the same for him. he's never belittled you. i also feel like he'd prefer to call it a "heated discussion" rather than an argument.
"michael, i know we had a really bad argument, but-" he cuts you off. "we had a heated discussion. there's a difference."
definitely likes bringing you a small gift every time you guys go on a date, or just when he comes to your house in general. sometimes it's a bracelet, a stuffed animal he'd won at a claw machine, or something even weirder. like one time he brought you those wind up teeth you'd find at a toy store and almost took himself out laughing once you opened it.
he's so silly actually. doesn't really go too far with his jokes/pranks but always catches you off guard somehow. you got a call one night, and strangely the man on the other line had a british accent. he was rambling on about something that didn't make much sense, but the giggle that followed was so unmistakably your boyfriend. you paused for a moment, and then: "michael? is that you?"
he hung up without another word.
of course, you guys play games together. twister and monopoly are your favorites, and you like to mess with michael by cheating, until he figures out there's no way you already had twenty thousand dollars in a few rounds. definitely keeps as eye on you when you play after that. but he never gets mad about it, just being able to play with you is enough for him.
one last thought, michael loves showing you his favorite black and white tv shows. especially the cartoons. the two of you are all cuddled up on the couch, covered with a blanket. and then you feel him move as he laughs, which really makes your heart race. you're soooo in love with him. everything he does is the cutest thing ever in your eyes.
