Headcanon: Red and labels (non-sexual)
Red doesn't think of herself as a human or as a wolf. She thinks of herself as an Other, someone outside of both labels that people want to assign to her. She can call herself one or the other or call herself a Werewolf even, but she considers "Other" to be the label that works best for her. She allows other people to call her whichever label works best for them but she has her perferred term and she will use it when she can, even if it is just in her own thoughts. Anita wanted her to chose being a wolf, Granny wanted her to chose to be human, Snow was the only person to ever accept her as both, as being Other, even if she didn't call it that. Snow understands, on some level, Red thinks, that she is both and neither one all at once.
