I also think it would’ve been amazing if we got more of Chewie and Ben. He grew up with him, and there’s that theory Chewie intentionally shot his arm because he was conflicted.

YES. I think no matter what anyone’s feelings on the ship are that anyone who was willing to see Ben redeemed was upset that he got killed off. Like I’ve said, killing Ben was the most boring and awful decision they could’ve made. Imagine if, among the uncertainty of Ben returning to the Resistance that he gave Chewie the medal along with a message from his mother. And... no I suppose Chewie giving Ben a big hug wouldn’t make everyone 100000% forgive him but man if that wouldn’t have been 1: an amazing scene that would’ve made me cry even more like all of the Leia stuff in this movie and 2: gone a long way to put people more at ease around him again. Because if the Wookie who can rip people’s arms off is glad to see him back and giving out hugs... well, I think it’d help haha.

Again, I get they wanted to wrap up the “Skywalker saga” or whatever but they 100000000000% could’ve done that without killing Ben off. Blah.

Did you catch the Talk on Wednesday? Kelsey was on, and they started off by talking about John. And Kelsey got teary. He also said that John was his father, and David is his brother because he never had those relationships.

i didn’t watch the episode, but i did see this clip online. :((((( god

My friend tagged me in a post, and I thought “oh what’s this?” And it was a link to John’s death. I don’t usually get affected by actor deaths (aside from a few) and this just hit me hard. I’m watching “Martin Does it His Way” rn. I’m so sad, but it’s nice to rewatch and smile at such a wonderful character.

❤️  That was the first Frasier episode I’ve rewatched since because it’s just such a sweet and funny and uplifting one (a lot of my favorite Martin ones are more emotional ones about his relationships with his sons, which are great but might be too sad for me right now). It’s so good, and the stuff about Martin pursuing a dream late in life, and even if he didn’t succeed at least he tried, actually reminded me a lot of John Mahoney, and the fact that he didn’t pursue acting until age 37(!!!)
