Nostalgia You always live in the past and claw to your memories. You don’t want to let go and realize that you have to move on. The past is over and you have to start building a future instead of relying on the past.
I’m highly allergic to seafood, what did my mil pick for family dinner? Seafood bisque.

I think the endearingly ironic thing about finding the "Stanley" button in the epilogue is that it functionally conjures up the feeling the Narrator intended to imbue the "player name"/Jim button with and to an even higher degree.
For all the "make yourself feel as Jim would when they found this button" and jokingly indulging in the Narrator's role-playing as him, the actual.. 'being' the player is inhabiting is Stanley. And regardless of Stanley's sentience, we're role-playing and acting as him.
And despite all promises to please the player with his next iteration and have this gag cater to them, the Narrator seems to instead just... leave one for Stanley to find. Stanley who loves to push buttons, finding a button for him. And when you spend so long 'being' Stanley it hits you so much harder, because maybe Stanley would appreciate the acknowledgement more than the player ever could with their own name button.
Because bere's this highly strung, egotistical, sensitive and perpetually-at-odds-with-his-creation being who chooses to find some way to acknowledge his sole companion and in the process ignore ever extending the same sentiment to the player.
To find something the Narrator left for Stanley specifically with all their history is just a bit heart rending.
