Her brows knit together in quiet concentration as she added his freckles one by one, each tiny flick of her pencil placed with painstaking care. She'd been so absorbed in getting them just right that she never noticed the subject of her sketch had wandered over and was now hovering behind her.
It wasn't until a shadow fell across the page that she jumped, letting out a sharp curse as she instinctively reached for the pepper spray clipped to her bag.
Then she looked up. It was just him, quietly staring down at the portrait of himself.
A sheepish smile spread across her face as she let her hand fall away from the pepper spray. "You caught me red-handed..." she admitted before glancing down at her graphite-smudged palm. With a grin, she held it up, her painted nail pointing at the gray stain. "Or should I say..." She tilted her head. "Gray-handed?"
