Senbonzakura is a being of emotions, raw and unhampered by the tos and fros of life. What he is-- how he acts-- is pure and unashamed in all the ways that the other part of his soul is not. If Byakuya is reason then Senbonzakura is heart, his heart. One that has been forgotten and ignored for far too long, and oh how that had hurt them in the end.
He thinks he should feel remorse for attacking the man who sees himself as his master, who sees this living part of his soul as a tool to fight and win his battles. In a way he perhaps does, that part of him that cares so vastly for his partner cries out and rallies against the notion that he could have turned blade against him. Primarily though he is angry that it had happened so easily in the first place. Koga and everything since had been a catalyst, one that was now gone leaving the raw anger behind once more. There was no wonder that he was so volatile, almost akin to a child acting out for attention.
“May I help you?” Is his gruff comment, not turning as he continues skipping stones across the large pond. “It is not like you to grace me with your presence.” Words turn harsh then, hostile in an active attempt to keep the man away from him. He had spent years calling to him only to be ignored and he had long since given up; this was the true price for what Byakuya had been done. Senbonzakura may not have been to the point he would deny Byakuya access to his powers, but he was certainly to the point that his company was mostly undesired.
At least that is what the living blade told himself.

Gifts between the wealthy were inevitably pointless in terms of monetary value, something both clan heads knew and had lived. This was the nature of privilege, the nature of the world they were each in and in a way that understanding could be gift enough in and of itself. What she had gotten him was simply alcohol, the offer of company partnered with it. “You look filled with holiday spirit. I’d expect no less~”
