Momota’s shirt is damp with sweat, and it’s way too hot to be embracing really, but still, Momota leans back into him, eyes slightly narrowed as he uses a trowel to brush the soil away from a particularly gnarly-looking root ball.

“That’s a big one,” Ouma remarks.

“Yeah, it is. I’ve been workin’ on it for about half an hour,” Momota utters. His gaze is intent, lips slightly pursed as he keeps at it with his trowel. It had surprised Ouma how much Momota took to things like this. Since they moved into this house about a month ago, Momota’s been taking on most of the chores, from the cooking and cleaning to the more strenuous stuff, like carrying around furniture and working in the yard on a 35℃ summer day. It’s not like Ouma wants him to be doing all that stuff either—Ouma isn’t useless, he can pull his weight at least as far as the damn dishes are concerned, Momota—but there is something about simply getting to watch him do it that’s… at the risk of sounding gay, kind of nice.

Hi there! Decided to do something for @oumota-events ‘s Oumota Day event going on right now! The fic’s loosely based on the sugar prompt (in that sugar is in the fic) but nobody’s grading me for staying on point so it should be fine I think.
