Something, Something, Albert DaSilva being terrified of the idea of death.

His mother died when he was only eight, leaving him as the youngest of three in a slowly crumbling family.

He got to watch and see how her death started changing the people around him, how his father began drinking more often, how much angrier his brother got and how stressed his sister was getting, trying to manage them all.

She shielded him from as much of the hardships as she could, until she too eventually passed away when he was only eleven.

He got to watch it all fall apart again, except this time, there was nobody there to protect him from it.

He was just angry for a long time that she had left him there, and these people who once cared about him were doing this to him. This feeling eventually passsed, leaving him mad at himself for even thinking about blaming this on her.

From watching this happen twice over the people he loved, he developed a fear of death. Just the idea of dying terrified him because of what it does to the people who are left behind.
