A quiet corner at Kwago book bar, right at the doorstep of Warehouse Eight.
Making it past our 2 year mark and nearing our 3rd since mid 2016, I guess it’s time we stop putting off this journal, literally it’s been in our to-do list for the past six- maybe eight months. I guess part of being a start-up that actually hasn’t grown in size much is having to deal with a pile of to-do lists and accepting the fact that you’re never getting to the bottom.
Having no blueprint and guidebook of how to run a co-working and events space in Manila, we even had a rough start overthinking on our name- only to settle with our address...literally we’re Warehouse 8a in La Fuerza Compound. We’ve come a long way in finding our strengths and filtering through noise on what co-working spaces should be and what the big players are doing. Maybe subconsciously patterning Warehouse Eight to our personalities of being low-key, a little rough around the edges, easy-going and sometimes a little crazy.
Organically we started creating gatherings that went against the grain and tweaked conventional formulas because we wanted to create an experience that was unique, enjoyable and a conversation piece- sometimes too stubborn, we push for risky ideas we love and although it doesn’t end well all the time, we still march the beat of our own drum and take each day as a challenge to continue being an independent space for creative disruptions and meaningful interactions ✨
