Leeds based imprint Outcross Records has been making waves in house music for quite some time with notable releases from Miguel Puente, Matt Hughes and head honcho Miguel Campbell. Minota is the new house-focused moniker of Christopher Dallaca aka Kiko, under he previous name Dallaca clocked up releases on an impressive number of labels including Turbo Recordings, Suara, 1605 and Great Stuff Recordings. The French native continues Campbell’s handpicked ‘The Beats Of Science’ series with a punchy two-track offering. The EP opener is ‘Sundaze’, swirling intonations paired up with steadfast kicks and shuffling hi- hats build towards a mighty breakdown in gritty low-end tones, meandering bass and jumbled vox snippets. For ‘Let U Go’ Minota kicks things off with oscillating synth lines and space dimensional atmospherics, these simmer as the foundations throughout while he employs distorted synth arrangements and sub-heavy hooks to deliver a dynamic low-slung house cut.
