I'm SO curious about Dhavi/Blackwall. Or really whomst she would have chosen in an AU where Solas didn't exist. Also Ziphrane/Zevran? Are either of them into women cuz I absolutely would not survive in Dragon Age so I would need them to keep me alive :3
i talked abt dhavi/blackwall here, but i'll also toss in talking abt dhavi/iron bull for free:
originally, dhavi was going to rebound from solas with a physical-only relationship with iron bull (a little bit because i thought that was something i could actually do in-game, but dhavi was also just originally meant to be way madder at solas than she has ended up being). while i've strayed from this, i still really like the idea of dhavi and iron bull getting together, however it might happen, including in a world where solas isn't an option for whatever reason. the almost unwilling religio-cultural crises they each have, especially when combined with how dug in they both were with their respective cultures, could create a really unique level of understanding between them. bull is, regardless of romance, deeply important to dhavi for that reason, but i love the idea of a romance growing from that. i'm a sucker for the big guy who pretends not to care actually caring so much, and that's very bull, who really likes to play himself as stoic and unintelligent when actually he cares very deeply and is absurdly smart. dhavi, with her big brown eyes that bore into the deepest parts of whoever she's looking at, sees right through him.
(he's also the first person in haven to say anything abt her being a leader that actually makes her want to be the leader everyone keeps thinking she is, bc he says the qun selects people based on who can make the hard choices and live with them, and that's something dhavi agrees with)
as far as ziphrane/zevran, i've never really thought abt it, but i like it! part of my draw towards ziphrane/alistair is the idea of her helping him connect with his elvhen roots, in a world where alistair is allowed to actually resemble his mother at all, and i can easily envision similar things with zevran and ziphrane. especially with the whole dalish gloves gift for him. and with ziphrane's dedication to her duty + zevran abandoning his contract on her, i think there could be something so juicy there about choosing yourself. oh it's growing on me. rapidly.
as far as if they like girls: abso-fucking-lutely.
dhavi's first love was a girl in her clan that dhavi carved this really awful, too-large halla antler ring for. she died protecting dhavi in an unexpected darkspawn attack early in the fifth blight, and after that clan lavellan went north into the free marches, and now dhavi carries that awful ring on a cord on her hip. (it's just that none of the fem romance options in inquisition are really her type. too prim, or too anti-elfy, or too chantry.)
and for ziphrane—while i know mahariel/tamlen is really popular among f!mahariels, i actually love the idea of there having been some unspoken and unresolved tension with her and merrill. bc what merrill needs is definitely for her fixation on the eluvian to be even more personal.
