If his throat hadn’t run so dry, he’d sputter something about never finding Teddy boring! Gator is oh so awkward, and Teddy is oh so cute. Maybe shopping wasn’t his favorite thing in the world, but that didn’t stop him from pretending that it was. The farmer was obviously enjoying every minute of this, so why shouldn’t he? No Cricket to chirp in his ear, no Vulture to squawk her usual orders ... Getting out felt good.
Hands stuff into pockets, color spreading across his own features as the rejection sets in. Teddy was saying this out of his usual kindness, Gator knew this, though the red heat on his cheeks would tell you otherwise. Expression shifts again as the man steps in, lips curling and brows furrowing sappy sweet. Whatever words he’d found previously are now lost in his mouth, returns to his mute status. He could only comply, offers a nod of his head. Direction of their walk shifts as Gator makes to guide them to the park; And maybe he lets himself press a lil’ bit closer.
“Littler Farmer!” While that is certainly NOT the smaller framed man--- it’s what Akhem decided on when his name managed to elude his thoughts. Nevertheless the merchant’s tone was evident enough along with a smile that he was more than pleased to see a familiar face. “I wondered if I would see you again--- it has been some time!” * @outlawsaviour
she’s heard the rumours. a simple farmer who goes about letting more... unruly folk take respite upon his land. and having been shot point blank but weeks ago, there’s a few people who match that description she’s mighty keen on locating.
“ ‘scuse me, sir, ” her voice is soft as she makes her approach, wary to startle a man wielding any sort of tool that could be used for bludgeoning. “ would you happen to b-be, uh... teddy? o-or would you know where t’find him? ”
@outlawsaviour ❤’d the starter call!

“They usually this friendly?” he asked, some CONFUSION sitting in his expression as he stared down at the animal—he'd always been more of a DOG person but... “Cats always seem like they don't like bein' touched.”
“You need a hand with that?” When stepping out of the general store, it was HARD to miss the smaller framed man with his hands full of goods. It was in Quint’s better nature to help where he saw help needed. So he wasted little time in stepping in, even WITHOUT the others word, and taking a load off him. Balancing it on his forearm and holding it steady with a hand. “Rather save you the trouble of possibly droppin’ everything.” * @outlawsaviour

pink, swollen flesh bloomed out around the gash bright like a bee sting, and it weren’t no secret that it stung just as sharply. arm fell limp at his side; bullet wound only slightly deeper than a graze. it was fine, really, but still his lover fret. he winced, breath sucked through gritted teethー recoiling from the prick of the needle
“ y’sure y’ve done this b’fore ? can’t be doin’ it all gentle-like now. ” arthur’s face scrunched with uncertaintyー and a certain type of guilt for being uncertain. “ go on, babe, i’ll be alrigh’. s’ jus’ like one of yer quilts. ”
he wasn’t sure if it was him or teddy that he reassured by looking away, but he did so anyway, eyes closing. teddy already held his heart in his hands; he could trust him with a minor wound, surely
“ m’sorry, by the way. always bringin’ trouble t’ yer farm. ” he croaked softly, “ wish i could be a better man for you. ”

He was quiet as he watched a mama cat give birth in the room he often claimed. She’d been meaner than a snake when he’d come back with a wolf in his skin, but she’d warmed up to him considerably. Alejandro crouched nearby, toweling off a newborn and handing it to its mother when it finally mewled for her. He had to wonder what his sweet Teddy would think about a cat giving birth in the house. From the light footfalls heading his way, he didn’t think he’d have much longer to find out.
