The whole Shani romance messed with the continuity kinda if you picked up from a completed save file and I didn't like that about Hearts of Stone. But I thought Shani was great otherwise, idk. Just kinda weird shoehorning there.

I started the quest(s) after beating Imlerith and before starting Final Preparations.

Shani is GREAT, I adore her. I would’ve preferred it if Geralt hadn’t encouraged her crush, or if there had been an option to play him that way at least, like it was possible with Triss (whether you romanced her or not, both options were well executed - mostly). I hope there won’t be yet another romance in the next DLC.
