1. As a writer, who is your biggest inspiration ?

Good question as it changes from time to time. I’m always impressed by writers who really dedicate themselves to create a coherent universe. On Tumblr for example, it was generalswain  and generaldarius . They stopped but they managed to make me think I could go much deeper in the worldbuilding, even without that much information.

For more “traditional” writer, I look for Alain Damasio. He created new worlds, based on the wind, based on communication, based on literal words. He is a wizard, playing with beautiful sentences while giving a strong message about life. I would like to managed to write something like this… Need to practice more.

6. How do you find inspiration to write when you can seem to find your muse ?

One of the reason I am not the most active writer, it’s that if I don’t feel like it, I will let time pass. Doing others things like walking, playing or whatever. Brains need to relax sometimes.

If it’s more urgent, I tend to listen music adapted to my muse. It’s enough usually, as long as I put my mind into it.

9. How has writing improved your life and do you see yourself sticking with it ?

To make things easy, it changed me from a shy boy, not really happy, to someone optimistic who just love to move. It’s been a while since this change. I created a model for me and, by playing it, I decided to change also myself. I also managed to met some of my closest friends like this also. It help.

I will definitely stick with it. Maybe not with the idea to become a full time writer, but I love this hobby so I won’t quit yet.

18. What made you want to join the roleplaying community ?

Examples basically. People who wrote before me. Made me think, why not me ? That was the case some years ago when I just started this and the same for this fandom.

(and for the people in question, it’s a-sneaky-red-head who looked for a Singed and ask-singed which gave me the persona that I loved by his arts ^^)

20. Who are your top three favourite fictional characters and why ?

I like bastards. Magnificent bastards. So my top three will be focused on them.

I guess Locke Lamora from “The Gentleman bastards” is actually the number one.  A thief with, at least some, heart. Snarky, intelligent, arrogant, determined, friendly, addicted to mischief. His story is a roller-coaster where you won’t stop for a minute.

One quote about him : “If he had a bloody gash across his throat and a physiker was trying to sew it up, Lamora would steal the needle and thread and die laughing.”

I highly recommend you this book from Scott Lynch

The second one is a crew. “La horde du contrevent” 23 men and women, raised to travel a world governed by the wind. Each of them is a real person, a concept put in flesh. Tenacity, Diplomacy, Savagery, Sarcasm. This bunch has everything you want.

It’s from Alain Damasio, only in French and I don’t think it’s something anybody could translate. But if you can read this language, just go for this book. You never read anything like this

Third one will be my muse from another universe. Hazama from Blazblue. A true bastard and the worse troll you can picture. However, with the move of Michael Jackson and a sweet and poisonous tongue. Faux affably evil are always something interesting to watch, as long as it’s well done.

For comparison, just think at a good incarnation of the Joker. It’s the same kind.

(In fourth, you could find Kvothe from “The Name Of The Wind”. Another great book from Patrick Rothfuss. just wanted to recommend this one too :p)

Small update

//Hello tumblr. Small point of my situation. I am back from Japan, I have also completed my degree. All's well.

For now, I am travelling around France in order to see my friends and my family. Next step will be to find a job. After this, I guess in one month, I will get back to put the mad chemist into action and interaction. Poisonous or not ^^

The Dark Magus

As a powerful magician that tried to discover the true source of power and magic, the Dark Magus has mastered an array of powerful and deadly spells that often have unpredictable effects. Just, why everyone is complaining about representation of champions/city state/racial/whatever else ?

It just, they put Nautilus in it god damn it. If you search for someone unexpected, you have one. They put Zyra and Rengar. Except Katarina, it's all "newcomers" in a video.

It just seems like, whatever they do, you will always have grumpy voices behind... I think it's a bit annoying when people complain for a wonderful free gift -_-"

Worldbuilder question: What is Zaun's education system like? Is it accessible to average people, or do you have to have a decent income to be able to attend?

//This is my reflection but I think it should be completed by others.

The subject is a bit hard as, Zaunite are independent, but care enough about science to want to educate the young ones.

Because of this, I think Zaunite education turn around the ideas of patron. Government is backed by wealthy funder which give directions for elementary school program. Until fourteen years old, free schools exists with limited places, but are not mandatory.

Of course, patrons give specific incentive. Singed will ask for chemistry, some others for robotics, etc etc.

After, you can pursue your education by working as an apprentice in a workshop. It provided you a bit of money and knowledge. Singed did this under Warwick supervision for example. It’s the most prominent way to keep on.

Private school can be found. It is usually expensive and lead by successful corporation. (specific lectures, better material and teachers. We shouldn’t forget that it’s still an industrial Era and knowledge is expensive)

At twenty, you can enter the most prestigious building of Zaun, the College of Techmaturgy where Viktor spend some time. This one is with a harsh selection and entrance are earned by your merit. (Sadly, you can always managed to buy some places, but it’s not the norm and you won’t get far without being caught)
