I truly don't mean to rush you or anything of the sort, I just wanted to ask if you were going to continue 'Behind the Barbed Wire Fence'. It's a very, very beautifully written and inspirational story. If you aren't going to continue it, could you give us a summary of what was to happen?

{ Wow. I almost forgot I put the url to my blog on the fanfiction site. I want to thank you for taking the time to write me, and also for the support and interest in something that I created. I'd have to say that based on how things are going in my life right now, I probably won't ever finish that story. It kinda died a long time ago in my mind, and I can't bring myself to start writing it again. I'm very glad that there were some people who enjoyed reading it, but looking back at it now, there were a lot of things I regret writing in that story. I didn't handle it as well as I could have, and I do find myself wishing I had handled the subject matter in a better way. 

But if you would like, I will give you an overview of what I planned to do with that story once upon a time......

I think I left off where Ciel, Soma, and Abberline were going to escape. In my original idea, they would be successful in that. Sebastian, feeling the guilt and anger that he did, would make sure they wouldn't be detected, while also facing Claude once and for all. That was going to be a pretty big scene, with them both pointing those matching revolvers at one another, both saying rude things and generally being children over a feud that they had kept alive since their childhood. Strong words were going to be exchanged and then they were going to shoot each other. Sebastian was going to be shot first, he was going to go down, and then he was going to shoot Claude as the other man bent to take his gun from him. Or something like that. Either way they were going to try to kill each other and end it then and there. 

As Ciel is past the fence, he was going to look back after hearing the gunshot, but as he is urged to hurry by his companions, they are rushed away. 

Skip to years later when the war is over. Now I actually had two alternate endings for this one. In all of them Ciel would be living well off, maybe in his late teens with a job and a lovely woman by his side (Elizabeth).  

In the first ending, Ciel would be walking around town one day with Elizabeth and Sebastian would be watching them from behind a building. After the war, it would be implied that Sebastian searched for Ciel but didn't come up with anything until years later. But he wouldn't talk to him once he saw him, he would just watch and feel a little better about what he had done as he turned away. Ciel would think he saw a face from the past, but he would disregard it and just continue walking. (This would have been the most probable ending. Most likely what I would have gone with.) 

The second one would be that Sebastian would have died from the gunfight with Claude and the ending would have been Ciel looking back, torn between staying and escaping, never again to know what happened to the man who had saved his life. (I kinda liked this idea a lot. So this was also a huge possibility.)

You can pick whichever ending you enjoy most I suppose. They were never going to end up together in my mind and the story was never meant to be a happy one.
