tumblr is only recommending hijikata posts to me?? i feel attacked
no don’t fight, ur so sexy haha
I miss this blog so much. The friends I made here, the community, the laughs and angst. I wish I had been more careful about staying in touch with people, that I had said something more before vanishing 4 years ago. Just logging out and never logging back in was a pretty dumb move. I’ve lost the chance to get contact information from everyone. I am still in contact with some people, but there are so many I wish I could speak to again. That’s my main regret about leaving this blog.
It’s taken years, but my love for writing has finally come back, and now I have no way to reach people. I really hate that it took so long for me to feel a desire to come back. I truly loved my time here so much.
If any of you are still using your blogs, I would love to exchange contact information. I hope you are all well and safe, and that you are happy in whatever hobbies and passions you are pursuing now. My time writing Saitou will always be so dear to my heart. Thank you all.

1. On formatting.
Honestly, formatting isn’t really important to me. I think it looks great, and it’s nice to see how artistic and creative some people can be, but the writing and interactions are the most important part of any RP. You don’t need icons or unicode symbols or fancy text and coding to make your threads great. Those are just adornments that can be really aesthetically pleasing, but they don’t influence my decision to write with others. I used to write RPs without any formatting or icons, but its fun to use them from time to time. In all honesty, coming to the Hakuouki RP community made me nervous (just because it was a new community and I didn’t know what to expect) - so I decided to do some things in order to feel more confident and to “look quality” (and told myself to “fake it until you make it”). That’s why I have a tagging system and started using a unicode symbol at the start of all my replies. Of course, formatting doesn’t actually determine whether a blog is quality or not, and I don’t think people who have zero formatting are any less quality than those who have a lot. It’s all personal preference and just an aesthetic choice.
8. On positivity.
Already answered, but thank you so much dear :>
11. On your character.
I really love Saitou. He has a lot of depth and is a really complex character. I tend to dislike stoic types, and on the surface he may seem just like that initially. He is calm, serious, and reserved, but he is also deeply caring, has moments of great warmth, and to me it was plain from the start that he doesn’t actually detach himself from those around him - his I-would-sacrifice-myself-in-an-instant loyalty and his willingness to take on the most unpleasant of tasks proves just how much he values his comrades. He’s a total badass, too. But also secretly a huge sword nerd and a shy, blushy, awkward dork and I love that he has both of those totally opposite sides. Adorkable people are my weakness.
14. On one-liners.
I’m not the biggest fan of one-liners. I prefer paragraph and novella RPs. But that’s because I’m a huge word nerd and an aspiring writer. One-liners can still be really fun though, but for me I only like doing them for comedic threads. Angst requires paragraphs. Many paragraphs.
On OCs
2. On OCs.
I love OCs. And I really love making them, too. They’re really interesting and bring something unique to RP. I think what I love most about them is seeing how they actually interact with canon characters. You never know what type of relationships they may develop with canon characters, or how they will react to each other, and it’s really exciting when you find an OC that your character clicks with. I also love seeing OC and OC interactions; they result in some wonderful ships.
12. On your own writing. (CELLLLLOOOOO MY LOVE YOU HAVE RETURNED!!!)
MADAME, MY DEAR, MY DARLING <333 I have already answered 12, but thank you so much!! I’ve missed you ;w;
On your own writing
12. On your own writing.
I guess you could say I kind of have a funny relationship with my writing. Sometimes I feel really negative about it, and other times I feel so passionate about writing itself that I stop worrying over the quality so much. Writing is one of my favourite things, and I want to be a published novelist so badly. Sometimes I feel like my writing falls flat and it just doesn’t come out the way I want it to, but I know I’ve grown a lot since I first started. It’s taken many years, and I’ve written a lot of absolutely awful writing in the past, but if you really love something you keep at it. And time and experience really help a lot. I know my style has refined over the years, and I feel like I’ve found my own voice. So I think over all, I do like my writing, even if sometimes I feel like quitting. I still have to improve in a lot of ways, and I hope to grow even more.
