54: What advice would you give to a new roleplayer?
Hmm... I think I’d advise a new roleplayer to not think too hard about making replies “perfect”. There are several routes a thread can go and none are necessarily wrong. Also, don’t panic if you feel that there is a hint of OOC in your reply. There is a certain learning curve that comes with roleplaying. Characters will change and evolve as you write them too.
For instance, my Byakuya isn’t the most strict stuffy ass that most would depict him as. (There is nothing wrong with making him that way, though, since he is that way A LOT in the anime/manga. Just seems kinda constricting to me.) I prefer my Byakuya to be a little more relaxed especially with those he is close to. However, it took a long time for me to get comfortable roleplaying him the way I want to.
On that note, if someone says “Hey, that character wouldn’t do/say that!” Disregard it. You are roleplaying that character, not that other person. It will be hard to ignore those types at first but as time goes on it gets easier.
Secondly, don’t be afraid to roleplay with anyone and everyone. This can be difficult even for an experienced roleplayer. But chances are that many other roleplayers are just as shy as you are. Don’t be afraid of making the first move. You could create a really great friendship with the muns -- which is also great for the muses’ connection. I really believe that the better the muns’ friendship/partnership is the better the muses’ will be. It makes everything more comfortable.
Most importantly, have fun. This isn’t a job. It’s a hobby. It’s for fun and should be stress-relieving, not stress-inducing.

One of my favorite things to do is to throw Renji in the air and catch him just before he falls on the task bar.
When you’re tired and should be doing school work but don’t wanna and instead get on tumblr.
