Outshining Star || Karen & Roxie
Roxie is fairly fond of Kanto. It was the region the band decided to do their very first tour in, and it was where they found their beloved mascot, Roxie's Koffing. It was agreed they'd one day return for both nostalgic purposes, and profit, of course.
And what better time than the spring time! With the great weather and the wild vacationers, it was sure to be a party. Roxie didn't expect for Kanto's spring breakers to be nearly as wild as Unova's, but she was sure some of them could get down, and she was glad to help them do it! Koffing and the Toxics had just come out with a brand spankin new album, and decided to perform a few songs for the first time. Of course, this brought in people, not just from Kanto, but all over. This was a never before seen performance, after all!
Not only were they new songs, but they tapped into new things that Roxie didn't typically sing about. It was a risk at her age, but as the saying goes, "sex sells." Taking this into consideration, the artist decided to look into that side of music. As a result, Roxie wrote a rather risque song about a "toxic woman," using clever metaphors and hidden meanings to not make the song too X rated for her age.
Her song, Venomous Vixen, was only one among the few she performed for the Kanto crowd, and they seemed to be living for it. It was promised to be another successful album from Koffing and the Toxics.
Of course, when the band wasn't on stage, they were attending all sorts of parties. Roxie never cared for the really exclusive parties, figuring it was full of uptight wads, but Billy Jo managed to convince her friend to attend a few with her and Nicky.
Roxie regretted it every time. She sat around the whole time while she watched everyone else drink and mingle in their high classed merriment. It was such a bore. Nicky always seemed to have the best time, which was no surprise. The parties usually consisted of nicely dressed women and alcohol, which he was the only one old enough to legally drink among the band.
Roxie would watch him approach women that were usually more than glad to spend time with him. It was one woman in particular that stood out to her, however. Just from a glance, Roxie could tell there was something different about her.
She was hot, no doubt, and she knew she was hot. The way she put Nicky through a loop proved that she was very used to this kind of attention. This woman could chew a man up and spit him out. Roxie didn't know whether to be impressed or intimidated by her, but nonetheless, one thing came to her mind. This chick was the Venomous Vixen in the flesh.
Before Nicky ran her away, Roxie scooted back out of her seat in a rush to speak to her. Since Roxie clearly wasn't a tipsy hound trying to get some, she was able to talk to the woman much easier, even getting her name before Nicky did.
Karen.
It wasn't hard for the rock star to convince Karen into being the co-star of her music video. She seemed pretty on board with it before Roxie even went into specifics, which was always a plus. Roxie gave Karen the set date that they'd begin filming before they parted ways.
----------
The typical rush to get everything before the first shoot was bearing down on the band. Everyone was getting their hair, make up, and outfit together. The director gave the ten minute warning by the time Roxie was done. Not much had to be fixed around for her. She wore her typical outfit with her typical hairstyle. It just needed a bit of sprucing up, and a little foundation was applied to her fair skin.
She had ten minutes to kill. She usually used this time to focus and try to play out the video in her mind. However, she was distracted by the beauty getting her make up done on the other side of the room. Roxie and Karen hadn't really had much time to talk before the shoot since she met her back in Kanto, she took this time as an opportunity to speak.
She approached Karen slowly, that sense of intimidation coming back to her again. What was up with that?
She placed a slightly shaky hand on Karen's shoulder, giving it a pat.
"Yo, break a leg out there."
