AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! XD Just got bowled over by an awesome fun new idea. *HAPPY SQUIRM*
Party-lovin’ Ratchet is canon from the early days, as we all know, right? And everybody seems to enjoy partybot Sideswipe, too. BUT, IDW Sideswipe? Very much not a partybot.
My brain wants to totally reverse the dynamics of the usual fanon “Sideswipe drags his Mech of Interest out to whoop it up” into “Mech of Interest drags Sideswipe out to whoop it up.” (Note: reversals of this sort are pretty standard issue with me, honestly.) I’m just adoring the thought of a Sideswipe that doesn’t really seem to know how to relax being treated to the attentions of a mech that is a real pro at it.
Of course, this has taken on a level of growing discomfort for Sideswipe as I consider it further simply because, ack, awkward situations he doesn’t quite really know how to handle. Sideswipe, you too keyed up, boy. Relax.... This will entail finding a way to settle him down that doesn’t include shooting up ‘Cons first. Which, seriously, only winds him up more rather than it settling him.
Will the mech that accomplishes it be Ratch? I don’t know, but he was the one that made me consider how very much IDW Sideswipe isn’t a partier.
I will need to consider this much more. See where the thoughts take me. <3
