Q: but didn't Outstar play Hardsuit Labs' Bloodlines 2?
After my last post about implications that Hardsuit Labs mismanaged Bloodlines 2 to the point of cancellation, a friend pointed out that Outstar played HSL Bloodlines 2, bringing up questions of how far along in development it must have been.
Outstar discussed playing through HSL!Bloodlines 2 around minute 12 in this video on their personal channel:

Outstar shows VtMB2's entry in her Steam library. She has 35 hours logged and says she's been playing very slowly, trying to explore everything. She gushes about the story, characters, and reveals. She does not say she completed a run of the game.
Here it's time we remember that there is a difference between a playable video game and a finished video game. Troika's Bloodlines was playable upon release. Technically. But it was not finished. To this day, you need mods to get the game to work. Cyberpunk 2077 was playable, but not finished. Outstar could have played through 35 hours of an unpolished, glitch-riddled mess; only saved by her generous heart and love of VtM. She could have played 35 hours of those vertical slices.
This is another thread in the postmortem tapestry we're weaving together.
