Link quietly held Zelda as she dozed against his arm, her head nestled under his chin and hair tickling his cheek.
From this angle she didn’t look too pale, though that may have also been the dim lighting in their room. Zelda sighed softly like she knew he’d been thinking about her, nuzzling a bit closer, and Link tightened his arm around her. She was exhausted, and for good reason, but she still looked lovely as ever.
A soft noise came from her arms, and Link looked down at their newborn baby, her face small and pink and just a bit scrunched.
A rush of warmth swept over him, and Link reached out a few fingers, lightly caressing her cheek. Their daughter wiggled a little at the touch, and when her mouth stretched in a tiny yawn, Link nearly melted right on the spot.
He blinked back the sting in his eyes, then leaned forward just enough to kiss his daughter, then leaned back and kissed Zelda’s cheek as well, holding them both tight in his arms.
