I've been thinking.
Which is never a good thing. I was having a long talk with my favourite lecturer the other day, who is completely 2D animation driven and loves all the traditional stuff like me. He was telling me about how after he graduated from Solent, he had a big dream of going to work for Warner Bros. and make Looney Tunes.
The deflating part is that most companies don't care for the traditional craft. Even Warner Bros. are making new Looney Tunes cartoons in 3D :/ It's just the way everything is going now. He was telling me that it's a lot cheaper, and easier now to do everything on computer because it takes less time. I said that's just lazy, and he agreed, saying that it's because people are less talented on the whole nowadays.
Also majority of animators for the big companies are all from and work in Korea. They work for cheap and are hella talented. Well fuck, I ain't moving to Korea for anyone.
I don't want this to bring me down though. No matter how hard or long it takes for me to get a Visa for America, I want to do it. That's the only sure fire way of getting near Disney.
