1️⃣ Take a deep breath: This can help you calm down and refocus your thoughts.
2️⃣ Ask for a moment: It’s okay to ask for a moment to refocus your thoughts. You can say something like “Can you give me a moment to think about that?” or “I just need a moment here.”
3️⃣ Recap the conversation: sometimes recapping the conversation so far can help you get back on track. You can say something like, “So, if I understand correctly, we were discussing ….”
4️⃣ Ask questions: If you are not sure what to say, ask questions to clarify the topic. This can help you understand the other person’s perspective and give you time to think.
5️⃣ Be honest: It’s okay yo admit that you need a moment or that you’re not sure what to say. Being honest can help you avoid saying something you don’t mean or making a mistake.
