Escape scene from Shawshank Redemption. This has always been super inspirational for me, but it has new meaning for me at this point in my life.

I’m finally escaping the darkness that has plagued so much of my life.  It’s not easy and I’m still working at it, but I have a fierce resolve.

 If you are in a dark place just know there is hope for you. If I can do it, you can do it. Hang in there and put 1 foot in front of the other and you WILL make it.

YOUR LIGHT HAS COME…

History has repeatedly shown us that God's light shines the brightest during difficult and dark times, and breakthroughs the frustrating and intimidating darkness. When we look at the state of the world around us, we can see the impact of a systemic, economic, political and religious darkness.

Yet, God is looking for instruments in this season that he can shine his glorious light through. If you find yourself in a situation that feels dark and hopeless, or if you are in an environment, society, or culture where darkness seems to control the outcome of things and narratives you believe should otherwise, then this is the time to cry out to God the Father, in prayer, to stretch his hand of reformation and transformation over your sphere.

When I use the word light, I am referring to the Christ light, which surpasses all human intelligence, knowledge, and comprehension. It takes those whom the world calls foolish to see and appreciate the glorious, all-transforming power of this light. Christ's light resides within you, my beloved, but you must fan the flames of your faith and obedience to the voice of the great shepherd to bring this inner light to life.

Ask him to use you and raise others to be a beacon of his light of faith and hope to transform the realm and sphere of your Society. Don't give up calling on the name of the Lord, for he is mighty to save. You have a father in heaven who answers prayer! Don't give up your intercessory and prayer lifestyle.

The darkness defeated

When the words were spoken,

And the question finally asked,

The fear should have been defeated,

And the days of running over.

Instead it lurks within my brain,

A suffocating repeated refrain,

With ever reducing pain.

Perhaps it’s silly to stick so long,

To mull over something so wrong, 

But impressions paint a heavy song,

That lasts throughout the years.

Mayhap the darkness was defeated,

Maybap the battles truly won,

Yet the war might gone on and on,

Until I claim my weapon back,

Without anger or fear

Or any strength I rightly lack.

Darkness has wars beyond the fight,

So even in failure it holds some might,

But I’m walking towards an endless light,

And a weapon I will claim as my own.

Bless fan fiction authors who write for the smallest fandoms. I just found the hard copy of my favorite fic of the manga Cantarella that I printed out when I had free paper at college and I’m so happy I wanna cry <3
