Overlapping Ripples

Word spread fast among the spirits. Even if it were small, a rumor or a fact would be quickly spread within the realm. While everything and anything about the spirit world was fascinating, Jude still preferred it back on the other side. While his spirit body may feel more at ease with the abundance of mana and peace… His mind was torn otherwise. Nothing could compare to the excitement-- the unpredictability that the human realm brought. It was only now that he could truly understand how Milla felt, and he agreed with it.
Though winding back to rumors, he had caught wind of Milla-- um, Maxwell sightings. While that was nothing out of the ordinary, some of the times and descriptions did not add up correctly. While his concept of time was ruined in this timeless place, it certainly stood out when he was certain he was actually with Milla in those times. It was hard not to be curious, though he was somewhat concerned. Did Milla know about this? He did try and ask her about her though she quickly brushed the topic aside.
“I know that anything I say won’t stop you. If it’s been bothering you so much, why not find out for yourself?”
It was said in that knowing tone-- that Milla clearly knew more than she was letting on, but found that his discovery of the answer would be better than her saying it herself. Milla understood him better than anyone alive (though that meant little these days). If she felt that was the best way to find out then… He would seek the answer himself! Maybe in her own way, she was trying to give him that sense of adventure. Appealing to his curious tastes and need for discovery.
“Alright then, I will.”
With that, Jude went off to find the answer he sought. Keeping an open mind to the question at hand, despite how impossible it may seem… The idea of there being two Milla’s in the spirit world and using that in his search made things… surprisingly easier. Jude could note the inconsistencies and narrow them down appropriately. It wasn’t long before he grasped on to a lead that led him straight to this ‘Milla’ in question.
Setting his eyes upon this person… He was right to keep an open mind. While a lot of possibilities came to his mind when caught their appearance-- Jude shook his head. One in particular stood out and yet… How much time had passed? Look at where they were now, where they both were. Did any of that really matter now? He was here, Milla was here… and she was here. No, he was jumping to conclusions. Nothing was wrong and he also knew nothing. This was a spirit and he was a spirit, a greater spirit at that. The least he could do was be polite.
“Excuse me? I… don’t think I’ve seen you around here before? Is everything alright?”
